just picked up my '97 LSC... will post better pic's this weekend...

Nice lookin' Mark! But I gotta admit, even though I am somewhat of a fan of the "snowflakes", they don't look right on a GEN2 LSC:) I thought they looked pretty good on my old bright toreador red '96 base, but not on your car. You need some chrome LSC 10 spokes or Cobra R's. Otherwise, get rid of that 3rd cat and put some rumbly mufflers on it and be happy. Good luck with it!

Seeing as how monies an issue, just cut the mufflers off. Borrow someones sazall and go at it, takes very little time and it'll give you the noise you so badly want.

Had mine off for a year w/o putting anything in their place till I could figure out which direction to go. Ended up putting them back on last summer because I felt a Lincoln shouldn't sound that way if it's stock. If it had perf mods I prob would've finished it. By no means did it sound bad though.

Since you are in college, I say leave it alone. It looks nice the way it is. Save your money for repairs and obsolete parts. Things are going to break. Count on it.

Congrats on your gen 2. Just remove the mufflers and reuse the stop tips. Cheap and sounds good.

Looks clean
Id say save for repairs as well, mod it after school

Nice Mark! What's up with the snow flakes, I didn't think those were ever offered on the LSCs..at least I've only seen 10 spokes and octastars..I'd chop the mufflers and put on some magnaflows or flowmaster 40 series..gives it a decent rumble, no mufflers I feel is too loud for a stock looking Lincoln..but to each his own..have fun with it!

Thanks everyone! I have to say there are some really nice rides on here and everyone seems very knowledgeable and helpful... yeh being an old guy back in school full time is tough- plus working full time. I am going to keep the mods to a min- until I get my undergrad stuff completed anyway. Exhaust mod for sure as the baffles are rattling a bit and I will keep my eyes open for an "affordable" set of wheels. The guy I bought the LSC from is an enthusiast and included a bunch of stuff he has accumulated over the years such as a refurb compressor, a handful of ign coils, strut sensors and the like. His philosophy was that he might not need the stuff at the moment but eventually he will. I am going to detail my car tomorrow and will post a couple of better pictures. Thanks for all of the positive comments and great advice! On a side note, I agree on the snowflake's- on the short list for replacement. The will be relegated to whatever winter driving I end up having to do...

Thanks! They were on there when I got it- looks like an accountants car with them haha... I agree on the no muffles, the rest of the system is in great shape so I can't justify replacing the 3rd cat and all just yet however the mufflers have a little bit of a rattle in them at idle so they gotta go soon.... the flowmasters seem reasonable priced and if the sound as good on the MK's as they have on other cars I will be very pleased.
