I just ordered a Valentine One and man am I pumped! I can't wait to get it and try it out on the daily 30 minute trip (highway) to school everyday :D

Congrats! I just got one too... Seems good, but is pretty useless in built up areas where it seems to bleep every few seconds, even in full logic mode. Picked up all the cops on the highway though...:)

Great buy guys!! I have mine for 3 years now and im very happy with it. I suggest that you make the direct wire connection to the Rearview Mirror

Congrats on the new buy

how difficult is it to hook it up to the mirror?? I live in the burbs but I go to college in the city so I figured either way it'll save me from another ticket ;)

I just purchased a V1. My Bel works just fine, I just feel the need to know where and how many radars with which I'm dealing. So far I really like the counter and arrows. It seems a little quick to switch from front to side radar. During an alert today when I saw the CHPer going the other way and the arrow switched when he was about my 10 o'clock. Not really an issue as our closure rate was over 150mph. He was also about 150' away, opposite direction. I got plenty of warning and the ramp up was better than the Bel. The arrows helped me identify the threat quickly.

Now for the really "I don't like"! In the dark you have to know the relative position of the indicated alert. The band indicator is a light next to a printed letter on the case; top to bottom L, Ka, K and X. From my limited use I don't detect a difference between the audio alerts, like my Bel. From the rave long term reviews I've read I assume I'll get used to this. My old Bel wiring will work, but the mute nor programming functions on the V1 do.

In summation if you want the best laser, multiple alert and direction arrow detector, get the V1. I feel I will acclimate to the darkness issue. If you need a detector that is radar detector detector immune, get the Bel as it is totally immune to such devices. I am totally satisfied with my STi Driver, I just wanted the arrows and best in class laser detection. BTW, the Driver saved me a laser ticket last December. It did a nice job of picking up "splash over" from targeting cars ahead. How do I know? Well, 80 in a 65 on the 101 would have definitely generated a ticket. I was down to ~72 when I saw him point the gun at me.

Valenine 1? I have three, one in every car. Needless to say they're awesome. Don't use the coil cord that pigs can see, either string the cable around the windshield or tap power from the ceiling. Use the remote display (well worth it), people won't follow you and if you're creative in mounting, pigs won't see either unit unless it's daylight and they're really looking for it.

400.00 plus shipping right from valentine.

I made a special bracket and mounted mine beside the A pillar.
This is totally invisible to cops even if they stick thier head in your driver window.
Wired it off the mirror.

no tickets and I also have a Laser Interceptor jammer for laser protection.
It will jam to gun all police laser guns.

The Valentine has phenominal range and sees around curves and over hills.
It will even pick up the reflection off a car if a cop has someone
pulled over ahead.

Feel naked driving without the Valentine.

hey 04sctls i was looking at your pictures what is up wit that jammer that is the :q:q:q:q!!! very sleek thats like some james bond :q:q:q:q can u let me in on a site i can get something like that

That's pics of the Blinder M25 laser jammer.
The modules mount in the grille.
All laser jammers have external modules making them susceptible
to moisture.

here's some links for that

350-429.00 price

There's you tube video links of the blinder in action.

I now have a better unit that costs double what the blinder is (700.00) but is less prone to moisture shorting and jams to gun all units.

Check out this years tests on laser jammers by

There's about 6 or 7 different manufacturers of jammers and they get put through the paces.
Laser Mask would be a good less expensive alternative to Blinder.
I've had Blinder in my cars since 2003 and they've saved my hide many times
but I decided to get the Laser Intersepter after a new Blinder shorted on me in 6 months.
Blinder replaced it under warranty but I'm just keeping it as a spare for my Camaro.

i have mine mounted on the rear deck controls facing towards the rear of the car. I have a 3rd brake light cover over the whole thing. A hole drilled in the back deck for the RJ 11 cord to go through, down the side of the car, up to where the remote console for the V1 is mounted right where the poster has his entire V1 mounted. I have a power switch for it just below the gas lid/trunk release buttons. Has saved me tickest for the last 10 years (first V6 LS and now this one). Havent had a radar or laser ticket EVER with the V1

and my mount makes it real convenient Its always in the car and NO one ever notices it unless they are sitting in the passenger seat and see the little console in the upper left corner of my windshield.

what wires do you splice into in the mirrow to make it a direct hookup instead of going all the way to the fuse box?

I've used the K40 blocker before on trips and flew by cops doing well over the limit and never had any trouble.

Wasn't there someone on here that converted the remote display to colored LEDs?

I remember someone selling a remote display on ebay like that.
