That's just for the nay sayers, not you. I am just too lazy to look up the smiles since the clickables are not there anymore. Has anyone done 14.50's? My goal is 14.40's if they put down enough VHT.

Just wait until they only prep one lane for the cars running slicks, and put the street-tired cars like yours in the other lane. Happened to me last time I went.

Again, it managed to produce a 14.65 at 97.21 with my method. I take MM&FF with a grain of salt, in that same article they suggest letting the engine get hot for better times, and that article is about a SOHC T-Bird.

T-Bird yes but SAME trans as the Marks. 2 Cammers like some heat in my experiences and less heat makes the 4 cammers fly.

Same tranny but vastly different torque and power curves. You know as well as I that the SOHC non PI engines were crap up top, and I can see them losing ET trying to stall the converter with that non breathing POS engine.

I clicked on to your photo bucket link for the time slips but I cant read any of it. Could you post a readable version please ???

That was my original screen name on here and no, I do not have the slips anymore. That car now belongs to Mespock.

Yes sorry, He posted a link to this thread as a matter of fact and I am sorry but I do not see any proof. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=75284. If a claim is made as the fastest in class don't you think proof should accompany that claim ??? I clicked on this link from there and did not see how old it was untill after I replied.

Quite honestly I don't care if you believe it or not, the time slips were posted for years here and others such as the board owner have run similar times. The fastest time I have ever heard of for a bone stock Mark VIII was a 14.5 at close to 99 in perfect conditions. My runs were made at Cecil county in Maryland with good traction and good air.

I've have heard stories also but I have never seen proof and was just hoping to find it. This is one thing I like about LOD is they verify claims and post a list. The owners car is for sure faster than this but it is not stock. Would just like to know the facts. Sorry if this upset you. Is there anywhere else to verify a stock mark running mid 14's. Thanks

No, I am not upset. I just did not think someone would be trying to call BS on a time I ran nearly 6 years ago in a car I no longer own. If I ever come across them I will take a picture, but then there would be claims that the car was not stock. The car had the silencer removed, but that was all that was done as can be verified by Mespock. Our site owner and quite a few others have run similar times.

a best that is more than 3/10th's faster than your typical average ET is catching lightening in a bottle.

No, it is called an east coast track with good air. The track was prepped properly as well so no wheel spin. 93's and 94's in a good state of tune have been running those times in good air for years.

I can see someone calling foul on a 13 second posting but for years we've seen these times. I guess doesn't matter what some self proclaimed experts say .. still slip was posted time was legit ... and who care what other believe ...

The car still runs and runs great ....

bring it to the track and let it rip...post your results...I will eat crow if I am wrong.

Truth be told everyone cares what others think. I believe it but I would just like to see proof of any stock Mark running mid 14's. I'm not saying that they can't just that I would like to see proof. Readable verifiable proof of any Mark. So far I've only see claims. Again I wouldn't have responded here if I had seen how old it was. I love these cars and if I tell someone they can run mid 14's stock I want to be able to prove it. You just cant believe claims with out proof its just the way the world is. Especially on line. You even have to question proof sometimes. I could have easily took some of my Cobra's faster time slips and claimed them for my Mark VIII. as an example. So sorry I and I'm sure most need more than a unreadable time slip.

Actually, Don... People do care what others think. But when you're here annoying people about 14.6x stock times and asking for 6 year old time slips, even when a slip doesn't prove the car was stock or even a Mark VIII for that matter.... people don't care what YOU think.

I was not annoyed. Was like WTF with the dark ages old post thou. I too would just like to see some mid 14 stock time slips. Not asking for them will never get them reposted or dug out of drawer to remember the good old times. I have all my old times slips. FYI my 93 stock went 14.75 first time ever to track with this car.

Here you go. You wanted an old 14.6 time slip, you got it. This was with my 1993 Mark VIII in March 1999 before mods. The only real mod I added to that car was cat-back exhaust and the car ran 14.3 after that.

My user name is the stock time I ran in my 1993 Mark VIII. I created that user name on the original "land shark and mark viii page", which is what came before .org.

A couple of other people ran stock 14.6's (including Geno) and I believe there was 1-14.5.

Man I still don't know why my track does not include the weather #'s on top of slip like yours does. It's a dragstrip they should include that info.

That is awesome.

I have a 94 which I have owned for 100k miles that used to have the Z4HO ECU I recently swithced to the w3z2..I posted a thread that said I noticed a difference in performance even though I had the z4HO sct chipped...that is when Mespock chimed in that his 94 Z4HO ran a 14.6 which I don't dispute...what I dispute is the ability for that stock 94 with the Z4HO unchipped to do it again. I have no doubt that a stock gen 1 with the w3z2 will run mid 14's all day long but not a stock z4ho on a consistent basis...
