I just picked up a mint and ultra low mileage 2006 LS. An incredible find...

Poll? What to do with it?

Mild or wild, or just leave it as Ford Motor Company intended?

That's so weird haha. I also have a 16,000 mile 06. That I recently picked up.

Tell us about your car. Color, options. Etc pics are a must!

The voting is going against any and all mods!

That's because the options are very limited. LSE rear spoiler, Jaguar 18 or 19 inch wheels, painted calipers, tinted windows, K&N filter charger.... Things like that. Lincoln did a pretty good job of designing the LS from the start. If you're interested in or even considering an engine swap you bought the wrong car.

No, I'm kidding on the engine swap but I do enjoy following those types of threads.
All in all, this car is so good as it is that it doesn't need anything, or much. I'd like to have a very mild un-corking of the flow, via a cold air (the intake for the stock airbox is tiny), and an extremely mild exhaust upgrade. I'd like to get the Jag brakes if they present themselves (and the shocks/springs too). and an immediate need it to get Sirius into the car.
What I don't want out of this is something like my Supercharged G37S, which is a 500 HP monster with a huge exhaust. It's a helluva daily driver, but has gone over the top. My LS is going to be my "normal" car (famous last words).

You can change the sound a little, but you aren't going to improve the flow over the factory intake.

I should have said the inlet for the stock airbox... that's the tiny part.

You know there are two inlets right? There is enough total inlet area to match the throttle bore.
I don't know of anyone who has changed the intake, done an objective before and after dyno test, and shown an improvement in power. This will probably be debated over and over again, but I doubt any proof will be presented.

Even if it doesn't make any performance increase, the sound and not having to buy new filters is worth it to me.

K&N claims 15hp on the dyno with their FIPK intake.

+1. Most cases aftermarket intakes lose midrange and other powerband horsepower. I'd love to see the K&N dyno sheet. Most of the time modding the Stock intake is the only thing that shows any improvement.

I'd like to see that same dyno in 100 degree Texas stop-n-go rush hour traffic. That's what I'm faced with here... and that's why I have had mixed results with using these types of intakes on street vehicles.

ummmm, a dyno run is WOT at pretty high speeds, I doubt that would be good idea in stop and go rush hour traffic. :shifty:

The "rule" of LvC....... No pics didn't happen!!!!:p

I just hit 17,000 in mine last month (had it since day one). I wonder how many other low mileage LS' are out in the wild.
