***new pics down the page***

Well as some of you know ive been getting sick of the lincolns performance. sometimes i love this car, sometimes i hate it. I really love getting into it though. i wish sports cars had as much room. anyways in my search for something fun/fast i found a bike :D (im still grinning). Its a 1994 or 1993 (dont know doesnt really make that big of a difference) Yamaha Seca 2/XJ600. Its blue with a black seat. black wheels. New fork seals, new brakes, new tires. its in decent shape for only paying 600$ for it. and it runs! Ive never owned a bike befor, it already freaking fell on me in the grass  . its going to be a learning experience for sure. It runs pretty well when its warmed up. Has a leaky fuel valve so ill need to replace that, cant be that much its plastic.

i dont have pics of it yet but heres one that looks identical except for the wheels and exhaust. and my seat has tape on it and the paint isnt as top notch.

id post it as an image but its a huge picture.

i cant wait for summer/spring. couldnt pass it up. 600$ for a running bike?! hells yes!

Nice! I have an 05 Shadow 1100 and I'm planning on getting an 08 GSX650F this summer. I love riding it'll never get old for yah!

great first bike!!!!!!! wheelies pretty good ,and for the price who cares if ya drop it in the parkinng lot LOL. go ahead and take a rider safety coarse if you havent already!!! I took one after 25+ years of riding and learned a few good tips!!!!!!

yea heres how much ive ridden in my life...

started it this morning. got it running good after 10 minutes (forgot it had a choke *mistake 1*) battery died and i needed to jump it *mistake 2*, got it warmed up and was going to just see if the tranny worked since i hadnt ridin it. get on it and hold the clutch it and put it in gear...stall. try again...stall...again..stall. im like GAARRR so i get online and one of my buddies says put the kickstand up *mistake 3*. so i go do that, and it works like a charm.

3 mistakes in a half hour. plus countless mistakes yesterday. its a learning experience and im excieted as hell lol.

i havent even owned a bike for 24 hours yet in my life lol.

thats awesome man, ive always wanted one too but as you i also have zero XP . when you get good maybe you can get a new bike and sell me that one :)

10:35am, wednesday morning january 7th...32* feels like 21 (weather.com) snow falling. i took my first ride up the street

i was wobbly thats forsure, ground was wet too. shes got some power though! enough for what i need right now! deffinetly gonna have to take my time getting used to this new type of driving lol. runs great once shes warmed up and the kickstand is up.

this is going to be a fun year :D

LsUnv2- dude i felt like the biggest idiot ever walking into a cycle shop. but i just made sure everyone knew i had no clue what i was doing or looking for. they were pretty helpful too. even loaded it on the truck for me. showed me how to start it. the biggest problem for me is being comfortable around the bike. im used to looking at bikes, not sitting on them or moving them. But trust me. wrestle it out of a truck with a 2x12 as a ramp that falls. through wet grass, have it fall on you. and your pretty comfortable after that. from my understanding these seca 2's can be had for cheap 600-1200$ and they are dependable and hard to break. I hear the kawasaki ninja 500ex is a bit better bike though and its also around a 1993 year.

Cool.. bikes are great.. I've been riding since I was 16... Goldwings here..

Love taking the trips to the mountains nothing like it.

Wife and I are heading to Doc's place (LvC member) in Wyoming this coming summer. Looking forward to meeting up with Frogman then also. Nothing like being out and about the country on a bike...

Awesome! I've always wanted a bike. Maybe I'll have to start looking around if they can be had for that price! Nice score!

Those mistakes you describe sound exactly like how it would happen to me. My bro has an old dirt bike that I've ridden, but it's a late 70's yamaha 250. Not really the same thing, though.

Not my style but bikes are freaking cool none the less!

for 600$....i cant complain at all.

Nice starter bike. Just had a customer at my small time shop sell one of those at the end of the year and picked up a GSX-R 750 from me. Welcome to motorcycling, it's an addiction that doesn't get any less expensive as the bug gets worse. I'm trying to figure out how to get the hell out of New York just so I can ride more. :p Good luck and stay safe!

A few pics of my bikes, my girls street bike with me on it, and my race bike:

Congrats on moving into the 2 wheeled world! Buy some good gear and consider the MSF course. Wear your gear even when it's hot. Remember the SWORD philosophy...Sweat Washes Off, Roadrash Doesn't!

My first bike was a 1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim. I loved that bike for years. I love a Yamaha and the SECA 2 looks great!

Here are a few pics of my latest, an '06 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6r in track plastics for a track day at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway.

She's Green & White at the track and all Gloss Black on the street.

I got rid of an '05 Suzuki Katana 750 to pick up the 636 for the track. The Katana was a great all around bike, but the 636 is A LOT more fun on the track!

awesome! I like the white!

I want to paint mine all white, no decals with yamaha on the tank in black. do a black or polished frame, and tinted windscreen. black grips as well and silver pegs. ill give it a year though, im sure ill drop it.

White and blacks awesome. Im a satin black and powder gold frame kind of guy.

But that will not look good on your style bike:(

Nice starter bike. My starter bike was a 1990 Katana 600. I bought it for $500with a bad battery, bad rear tire, and cracked plastic. I put about $150 into a new battery, new rear tire, bondo/fiberglass tape, and red spay paint. It actually turned out pretty good when I was done. I had that for about 3-4 months and sold it for $600. Since then I've had 3 other bikes, and currently looking for another new bike.

I sold a Suzuki cruiser to help get enough money for my LS. I just have a few comments to make to first time bike riders. First, don't ever get too comfortable. Second, never try to show off. And Third always pay attention to your surroundings even the surroundings that are a mile down the road.

Oh yeah, and have fun. There is nothing better than cruising down a twisty road on a motorcycle. :D

Shout out to Shawn Grady, we miss you.
