Hey guys Im back on LVC I sold my LS for a mustang now I just bought a 98 LSC with 97k on it pearl white with Octostars (will try to get pics up later) got it for 2850...now the car is all stock so I think..only problem I see with the car and idk if its a problem at 70mph it sits at like 2700rpm cruising down the road. Trans shifts fine and when i press the O/D off it jumps up like it suppose to I just feel that it should not be that high. I only got like 21.5mpg on the 250 miles trip home could it be possible it has 4.10 gears in it. What does everyone elses sit at at 70mph? Any info would be helpful thanks guys.

You can use a gear calculator, or do it the old school way. Lift the rear up, throw it in neutral and count how many times the pinon spins on a full rotation of the tire.

I really don't want those gears I do a lot of highway driving..what do I need to do to go back to stock or like 3.55s ..where can I get the parts and stuff?

I have a set of stock 3.27's sitting in my storage building, I will trade you straight up:).

If I bought a car with 4.30 gears and I didn't know about it Id kill myself.:D

This is an excellent reason to install a T-56 tranny.

Find a member that lives around you w/ stock gears and the ability to switch out the pumpkins between cars. It's a win win for both parties.

this sucks idk what to do i don't even know what they are exactly the the gear calculators Ive used say around 4.10s to 4.30s..those gears have to be hard on the car

I have 4.10's and no, they are not hard on the car.

Jeez don't you hate it when you think you're buying a completely stock car, you realize you were just suckered when you drive away from seller?

Happened to me with my 98 Cobra... All stock, until I felt that the RPM's weren't right either. Turned out to have 3.73's (I was disappointed they were not 4.10+ )

Better check your car for any signs of Nitrous use

I have a whole pumpkin out of my gen one with 3:08 gears that I would give you if you were closer.
