Here recently I've been having a hard time keeping my reverse lights working. Usually I can just reach my hand in there and wiggle the bulb and it'll come back on, does anyone else have this problem? If so how'd you go about fixing it? And also, what kind of batterys does everyone in here run? I believe my car still has the stock battery and this RE XXX does no good on it. Lights dimming like crazy.

Try closing up the tabs in the socket some. Make sure the lights are off while doing this (if you use a small metal (tip) object like a flat tip screwdriver)

Battery-optima red top. I dont have a lot of power in my sound system tho, just enough to get loud and make my driver door and interior mirror practically useless

That's about what I was thinking was using a screwdriver. But I've considered red top or kinetic. A upgraded alt would be ideal since I'm running 1800+ watts. Gettin sunroof flex and rear bumper cover flex :D

Also running a red top but I don't go full retard on my system too often. I've briefly read that Yellow Top Optima is more ideal but with your setup I'm not sure.

You can get an upgraded alt but are you prepared to spend $550 for one that works right?

Yea alt is the only way, but you can build a bank of batteries in your spare well, or just replace the OEM with a high performance.

I run a Kinetik HC2000 in place of my OEM battery and it helps a lot, but you still can't be full-retard when idle.

Well I have a place nearby that beefs up alternators and uses the existing cover of the old one. Why is it that you have to be so choosy on HO alts on these cars?

Because none of them have worked right. This cars electrical system is very sensitive.

Because none of them have worked right. This cars electrical system is very sensitive.

So sensitive that when I installed a utility light in the trunk for added light the factory light wouldn't energize. It would work just fine until I closed the deck lid. Upon opening the light wouldn't light. The system sensed the added current and shut the whole line down. LEDs on the other hand work perfectly.

See the thread on HO alternators......
