Ok..for the record. I wasn't anti-Bush until all the stupid $hit he did post 9/11. I never thought he was terribly bright, but never disliked him until after 9/11.
Ok..on to your question.
Well, Mcain isn't well loved here. People generally refer to his as "McSame", because they feel he is much the same as Bush, especially with wanting to stay the course in Iraq. Canadian are pretty outraged that approx. 100 Canadians have died in Afghanistan, so it boggles the mind that given the casualties you've taken in Iraq you'd want to stay the course. He's also seen as "too old", although personally it's not an issue for me. He choice of Palin has been regarded as somewhat of a joke...like he was grasping for the Hillary-lovers who may have been put off by her losing the nomination. The big thing about Obama was "lack of experience" and here's Palin..who has less experience in governing people/running a gov't than our mayor in Toronto...(which isn't much!!)
Obama is better liked here, and the preferred candidate. The one thing that's strange here is his skin color isn't often a topic..either for or against him, whereas his race is often mentioned in US papers. Occasionally his age is referred to as a "negative" (lack of experience). Oddly, we've also had Obama rallies here, which I don't recall in any other presidential race. In various cities to boot. People had joked that if Hillary were his running mate, she might try to poison him. LOL Biden has flown a bit under the radar here. Not much has been said for or against him in our media. So it would seem Obama is the preferred candidate.
For me? Neither seems the ideal. But I'd lean towards Obama.
We are in the process of an election that was hastily called here...Oct. 14. Our PM isn't terribly loved here ATM. Though he may get back in since the other candidates are crap-tastic.
Nothing new on your end?? **Edit..I'm in chat if you want to come and chit-chat!! **
