J-mod in progress - question...

I'm in the process of j-modding my Mark 8. I took out the valve body and noticed that my 2-3 spring and cover plate were not secured at all. I didn't notice a piston in there either. Shouldn't there be a snap ring holding those items in? I was able just to push up on the cover plate and have the spring fall out with little effort.

There was no debris in my pan either...

I also noticed the snap ring pliers I have are too small to get at the 1-2 ring.

I'm sure my trans will love getting the red wine out

The 2/3 accumulator does not have a C clip it is held in place by the valve body, just make sure it is seated properly when you put the valve body back together.
The 1/2 accumulator is a @#%^ to get the C clip out, you need a good set of heavy duty C clip pliers.
Did you get the drill out locations for the plate?

Yeah i got the drill locations, some are missing on my 93 plate so I guess I should make them.
