I just changed all my tires back to stock from having the widest/smallest tire I could get on the stock rim.

I have on the car black springs that I got in a trade and Tokico struts.

Right now when I'm driving on the freeway it seems like the car wants to bounce as if the springs are shot, and the bumps on the road can jolt you pretty bad. Also, i don't remember the car sitting so low on the stock-height tires.

I'm guessing a lot people here have the red strutmasters springs.

Could anyone tell me who has had both the strutmasters and the black(I think there are several different companies who sell the springs black) springs tell me if the switch over to strutmasters is worth it.

(and if anyone has any for sale?) ;-)

Thanks

The p.o. changed the springs/ struts to the Strutmasters before I got it so I have no comparison vs. stock M8 suspension. Car rode great though. Decently firm in the turns, comfortable enough cruising as not to degrade the expected Lincoln ride. I came from a P71 with stiff-ass suspension though so pretty much anything is a soft ride in comparison.

Strutmaster are the cheapest you could get. The "black springs" doesn't say much, many companies use a black coating, my Eibachs are black

i have red springs but its american suspension. they are too sloppy im going to change them when i can find the right spring and shocks. saw new billsteins the other day for $90 at least for the rear. not sure what to use for the front thats compatible.

if your car wants to keep bouncing after going over a dip/rise/bump in the road its not the springs, its the shocks, shocks are what control the body motions like i think you are describing. or did you mean something else?

actually they work in tandem. the rate at which the coil compresses can be stiff or loose, then the shocks take up the majority of the road bumps and dips. im trying to find out what front strut to use or that would replace the american air one, they're not being entirely cooperative. i believe they should be the same as the thunderbird.i can however change ti a eibach or vogtland stiffer spring. im going to keep the rear ride height the same so the 295 40 18 tires wont have any issues, ive already went to one of the 10,000 tire places down here and had them use the speedstar rim and go through the tires. i wanted the 18x10 rear but 9.5 is all they offer but we tried with 18x9 and there was no rubbing issues i probably could go 1" lower but tires/rims first before i get into suspension since i just changed it out last year.
