After I did the coil conversion, the car ran straight as an arrow so I never did get an alignment. I have since put about 200 miles on the car.

Today I noticed that to go straight the wheel has to be turned to about the 2:00 position.

I am guessing its because the suspension has "settled" and it needs an alignment now. Would that be correct? Is there something else I should be looking for?

I do not know I did the coil conversion only in the front and it has been fine for thousands of miles. How is the rest of your suspension?

Sounds like you should get it aligned... or you can just fix the wheel centering issue yourself...

Ask yourself these questions:

Is it possible that you've had to hold the wheel at 2 o'clock since you did the coils and didn't notice until now?

Do you know for a fact that you were positioning the wheel normally and all of a sudden it's different?

Is it possible that as you put on a few miles you gradually had to change how you held the wheel and all of a sudden realized that you were doing so?

If you know for a fact that all of a sudden you have to hold it different, that would be an indication that something has moved or shifted in the front end.

Any time you take apart the front suspension, you should always have the front end aligned. Even though it may seem that it's right usually it's off a little and will affect tire wear and handling.

I would also suggest going back under the car and make sure that every nut and bolt that you took apart is tight before you have the alignment done.

Did you do rear coils as well? Is it possible that something in the rear is out of alignment and you are countersteering to correct for it? Maybe a four wheel alignment is what you need.

Good Luck,
Bill

Thanks Bill.

I know for a fact the day I finished the swap, i could go down the road with no hands and it was straight. And I could hit the brakes with out it pulling to the left like it did before.

Its very possible that it gradually started to do this and I just happened to notice it yestarday. I am getting a 4 wheel alignment sometime this week. And I will be crawling under there to make sure everything is still tight.

Thanks for the tips.
