The 80mm maf and conical filter kits ive been seeon? I plan on doing a chip the same time then removing the resonator and replacing the mufflers to.help.it exhale better. But im having a hard time believing having the intake directly in the engine bay will help.

Keep the stock filter & Box and just do the snorkle delete, and save your money. Chips & Gears get more bang.

intake

If you have a gen 1 do this. I notice a BIGGGgggggg difference

What they said. The stock air box is more effective than almost any cone filter setup. Also, use a paper filter too, no need in using a K&N with oil all in it. Waste of money. I had a K&N panel filter that came with my black on black 94 back in 2005 and I found out real quick that the filter was not the best choice someone made when they put it in. I didn't meet the owner because it was bought from an auction but some oil from that filter ended up getting on the MAF sensor and had it running awful for a few days until I could figure out what it was. I was new to these cars then and my first bad decision was joining the .org site.

Anyway, a good paper filter and your stock air box is the best way to go unless you start throwing some cash into that engine for some major HP but look how much HP your first responder has.

Throttle body is the most restrictive point. As stated, the stock box works very well! The intake tube mod is just for sound.

Forgive me but did you mod the intake tube or is that a new tube all together? Im new to the 4v motors all together not just the mark 8.
