since i picked up my Mark VIII everywhere i go people are saying wow thats a nice car what is it. or damn thats a fine lincoln. to be honest with ya i think its a descent looking car only because ive got some chrome peeling and the clear coat on the paint is gone and what not. so i was wondering if its normal for people to compliment these cars. are they really that uncommon on the streets im not complainging about it its nice being stopped and asked about my ride. but its just a plain ole stock mark viii lsc. also if it a common thing why not share any stories you might have about people just coming out of the blue to talk about your Mark VIII if their good stories that is

People have said stuff. Normally along the lines of: Is that a Mercury? Does it have a V6 engine? Couple of compliments, not sure why.

i got quite a few in my old 98 lsc, mostly old guys saying how nice it looked and that they wanted one when they were new but too much money. i got a few people said mine looked like it belonged in the soprano's show, jamie's mafia car!!

really nice car you got there jamie, looks like it should be on a calender page with that back ground.very vivid!

The Mark VIII is a stunning car-
I think the Gen1s have the most visual impact and appeal.

When I first got mine, I even had teenagers complimenting the car while I gassed it up. They hadn't seen anything like it.

And it's a hell of a lock better looking than those damn Impala SS that are still in favor today.

Amen to that.

Trippen, when you keep it cleaned up and running well, people will swear it's a newer car than it really is. People will typically guess that my 96 is a 200-2004 model, never believe me when I tell them the actual year and odometer reading (193k right now), and are disappointed when I tell them that Ford stopped making these things over ten years ago.

If you've got a GenI car, you will have people who remember the lowering beam commercial, which I always found rather interesting.

The fact of the matter is, you're choosing to drive something different and unusual, a car that isn't really around much anymore, and it will turn the head of anybody paying attention to their surroundings. You'll get to meet all kinds of cool people when they speak up, which is the single greatest thing about these cars. I love it, and you will to.

yep people ussaly say no way thats a 96 ive had the car a little over a week now and have had no less then 10 people stop me about it. i can say that i dont regret buying my lsc its a lot more fun to drive then my bronco was and its just a sharp ride

I often get asked if its a Buick Rivvy. Had a cop who was directing traffic come up to me and told how much he loved the these cars from back in the day. get a lot of people who look kinda of confused when they see the cobra intake manifold :D

I just hear it from car guys who know how to appreciate it. I get A LOT of compliments at the auto hobby shop on base where I work on it. I got a compliment from a guy at Wal-mart a couple nights ago who said he has two of is own at home. When people go along for a ride, they say it moves like a corvette on the curves and rides like a yacht on the highway. I've also been told "I feel like I'm in a spaceship" in reaction to the interior...it does kinda look like the bridge of the Enterprise. :D

I get compliments once in a blue moon, a guy at the parts store across from where i work asked me if it was a stick or did I have alot of work done to it since it rips and chirps gears...hahaha, now the black 95, when we got that back in 2005, with 44k on it people swore it was a new car. I have a LSC badge on the back of mine because I'm tired of hearing "the LSCs were the fast ones, they got the V8"

Happens quite frequently on mine.

Most want to know when did Lincoln start making a two door car. When I say it's 12 years old, they pretty much stand there with there mouth open.

Thank you very much. ;)

Best one was when I had the CC recall done and driving out of the dealership, a couple stares at it and I hear them say: "why aren't there any of those on this lot?" :D

I get it sometimes too... I actually am surprised when people know what it is!

I get alot of looks and thumbs up when I drive it...

In short... I love this car! :D

And KK, I've said something about your car!
