these are the problems I am having.

1. My neon tailight isn't working with the car off but flashes and turns off. I am guessing that the light isn't getting enough power because when I turn the car on it works fine.

2. when I was driving my car, all my interior lights shut off but I was still able to drive home. This happened two times while I was driving. (I read that if the battery is low, it will shut off the interior lights and keep the ones you really need on to conserve battery.

3. I have 108,000 miles with original spark plus, would this be enhancing this problem?

I am really thinkins its my alternator but The thing is, I just replaced it like 2 months ago for $300:mad: I am gonna go to the guy who changed it and let him know that he needs to replace it. BTW the battery was also new after I got the alternator replaced.

Oh forgot to tell you, its my 97 Mark VIII

I would get a reman Alt. form max.
I assume your Alt. was reman ? From some ABC part store ?
I had a local rebuilder do my stock Alt. it went to crap on me right away.
Went to max no problems since.

well it has a lifetime warrenty so I am going to get it from him.

The neon sounds like a bad ballast. It is common for them to flash for a second when they go bad. Do a search for more info.

Does the battery light come on? Does the car run ruff when this happens?

Have both the battery and alternator removed and bench tested. Be prepared to replace both.

For your alternator, check out a brand new unit from paperformance.com

Like we said last night Most likely it's the Alt. You can get it tested at most parts stores.

Rebuilts can die fast it's a crap shoot with them. I have one that I've been running for 4 years... I've also had one died in a few months.

Contact GMAN about how to fix the neon tail light if it's not working. He found a way to make it all good again and affordable.
