Quick question to whoever might know... I have to drive to RI and bring a ladder, its only a 6 footer and i'd like to take the mark. If i remove the back of the rear seat does it open up the area to the trunk? or is there a metal devider back there. Figured it would be easier to ask then start tearing the thing apart. Thanks!

Wanna see a pic of back seat removed? Look at this thread:

If you think you can squeeze a ladder through the X brace, then remove rear seat as follows:

- Push base of rear set back and pull up, remove from car.

- Remove the 2 bolts (one either side) that hold bottom of seat back, then lift the seat upwards, to unhook it from the rear shelf.

- Remove insulation (the cardboard in trunk and the seat insulation)

Should take you 10 mins! (i have mine out right now, as i was repairing my X brace)

thanks that was very helpful- i'll have to see if i can squeeze it in. Looks like its kind of weak tho; i wonder if additional bracing would help tighten up the car? Now i see why our cars dont have the pass thru behind the rear armrest like some others do!

Yeah, its abit weak, but it should be strong enough to rest a relatively light ladder on (assuming you can't fit it through the lower hole) Mine was snapped in 2 places, due to chassis flex, so i had to get it welded up. I have since reinforced mine abit with some aluminum plate and rivets. Will post some pics in a few days.
