I have the CD manual but the wire diagram doesn't work.. Corrupt file or something lame. Either way I have a 01 v8 and wanted to know where the + wire is that basically triggers all the interior lights to turn on when the doors open. Also that is a 12v source correct? Any help/tips would be awesome, meanwhile going to try and fix this corrupt file..

What are you trying to accomplish? There is no single turn on wire.

There are switch inputs from the doors that trigger the electronics to turn the lights on.
There is battery saver relay that supplies +12V to the lights all of the time that the car is awake. The REM and FEM (or the light switches) supply grounds to the other sides of the lights when the lights are supposed to be on.

I have the wire colors for gen II, which might be the same as gen I, but they are different for different lights (left, right foot well, front map lights, rear interior lights...) Which light are you going after?

I guess any of them.. I thought there was like like one main wire that connects them all to turn on at the same time but obviously not.. Its not a big deal buddy ill just tap into any of the footwell lights or door lights.. thanks anyways.

Going to add blue LEDS to the inside of my car. I think rollin had something like how I wanted to do them..

Hey Joe do you know where the relay to the puddle lights is?

The actual relays that turn the puddle lights on and off are inside the FEM. They are probably electronic, not electromechanical relays.

The relay that supplies power to the puddle lights (and several other things) is the SSP3 relay in the battery junction box. This relay is on anytime anything happens in the car, and then shuts off about 30 minutes later. It is controlled by the REM.

Power goes through fuse F4.24 to the relay, and then through fuse F4.05 after the relay. From there it goes to the central junction box. From the central junction box it goes directly to the passenger puddle light. It goes from the central junction box to the auxiliary junction box and then on to the driver's puddle lamp.

So if I was trying to get some additional lights to come on when I open the doors (activate puddles). Could I just tap into the F4.05 fuse?

No, the lights would stay on all of the time, except that they would turn off about 30 minutes after you last opened/closed a door or the trunk, or pressed any buttons.

Damn... I don't get it, I just wanted my demon eyes to come on and turn off when my puddle lights do... Oh well fuk it lol
