Interesting Web Info on the Mark VIII

thats funny, i didn't know our grills were flexible, i thought they were brittle.... and also, ferrari makes their own engines... silly info... funny they say 8/10ths of an inch and not 1/5th of an inch..... Handles to withstand 4000ilbs of force, damn im strong

Why would they say 1/5''? That is not the same as 8/10''

4/5'' is the equivalent of 8/10'', or preferably: 0.8''

Article also says the door latches can handle 4000lbs of force, not the handles.

I don't think it's completely accurate. Did the '93 model really have tubular exhaust headers? Or "dual" exhaust? As far as I know, they all had cast exhaust manifolds and base models had the "fake" dual exhaust, like my '96 does. I could be wrong, though. Also, my '96 does not have child seat anchors. Anybody else got those? Mine doesn't have solar tinted galss either. No under hood light either on my '96 or my '97. There's not even a place to put a light under the hood. Still a very interesting read, though.

Awesome!

Great idea with the suspension, just not enough money went into it.

You're right, my 93 has the crappy manifolds and a single... but it does have a hood light and solar tinted windshield (the slight green tint, dunno if it's factory though.)

what latch are they talking about?

That piece in the edge of the door with 'jaws' is the latch. That loop on the 'B' pillar is the striker. They are basically saying that once the door is closed, it takes more than 4000lbs of force to break the door open. (relevant in side impact, or if some (totally moronic) thief tried to pry open the door)

Post-muscle-car enthusiasts under 40 who want a fun-to-drive car that's more refined than a Corvette, Supra or Z-car.
And lastly, celebrities, sports professionals and entertainers who are looking for domestic alternatives to Porsches and Jaguars.
