Intake

hardy har har har lol.
how big of a task is it to put the cobra intake on

On a Gen II its not too much work really. I could do it in less than an hour. A Gen 1 has more work because of the engine harness. On a Gen II thats not in the way really.

I just an not sure about the fuel rails, but I think the stock ones work. Someone would have to say for sure.

Either way its not a ton of work. Just before the last meet I went to I had taken my intake off in 15 minutes flat. Was a good time to inspect the valves and clear out some oil I had in the lower intake.

I'd get the intake first then ask q's.. do you have the intake? cause last one I looked at was going to run 800 doll's and I gave up on that particular idea.

And then I shoot myself for throwing stuff away.... I had a 96 Cobra Upper, 96 IMRCs and A LOT of other stuff that went in the dumpster! :(

Hah. Ouch dude. .. I do think it was the upper and lower for 800 if that makes you feel better. Lol.

Not bad on the intake purchase!

topher.. well hey, now you know what intakes to look for!

Here is one for sale. But it may be sold.

If you wait and you REALLY want to switch, then wait. A deal like the one I just got will come along. I was even a little lucky with my original intake purchase. Just keep an eye on eBay A LOT. Check a few times a day. You can create a bookmark of the search you perform. Then you can just pull it up instead of starting a new search each time.

Either way, if either of you want a better intake without a head swap, the link above is a what you are looking for when it comes to the design.

I asked because I can get a gen 2 intake for FREE. I have a Gen 1 intake on my car currently. So is there any gain going from my gen 1 intake to the gen 2?

As I said, nope! The intake is the reason a Gen 1 can beat a Gen 2 any day - assuming stock for stock.

yea dont switch keep that gen1! If you plan on doing a supercharger hang onto the gen 2 tho

so i bought it $375 do i need the IMRC runners, and is there anybody out there who can guide me as to how to hook up all of the vaccum hoses, and emmission crap, and how to hook up the throttle body

I thought to use the cobra intake you need the fuel rails from the cobra too cause its to much work to mod the stock ones

The cobra intake is NO couple hour job.. beleive me.. If you have the cobra fuel rails, then yes, it will save a TON of time. But it took me a full day and into the night. i did it right though, cleaning everything like the IMRC's and porting the Throttle body. I Still for the life of me cant figure out how you can run the cruse control with the Mark throttle bracket. I bent it to where my throttle opperates fine. but the cruise.... its just unhooked.

It's worth it guys. It looks soo great... i think just the wow factor when you open the hood makes it worth it. But it makes it haul booty too...

PM me with any questions i will be happy to answer them..
