my original spark plug wires are not numbered but the ford racing ones are, can someone help me figure out an easier way then just taking the old one out and measuring the new one up in length to figure out where they go.. i know ive seen diagrams with # of cylinder to the coils, but does that correspond to the spark plug wires numbered by ford racing or not? i am having trouble finding those diagrams btw.... what do i do to install these things?

I've always laid the wires out shortest to longest and taken the wires off the car in the same order and just replaced them one by one and then cleaned them all up once I was done.

If the Ford Racing *are* numbered, I don't understand what the problem is-If you remove the back wire on the driver side, and match it up with a wire that is about the same length... Do you not know the coil and cylinder number locations?

The coil towers are marked, on the flat top side of the coil itself.. look closely.

Also.. the ford racing wires ARE numbered, but they are for the 96-98 cobra and the wire routing may dictate a slightly different length than a mark 8.

when I put them on my car, I found I had 4 wires that were a fair amount longer than any of the stock plug wires.

i just do them one at a time also and clean it up when done, whats so hard about that, you're not gonna save much time any way you do it!

+1 Line em up on the ground and pick em off one by one. Clean em up when your done.

thanks guys I did the common sense thing by laying them out by size but the diagram really helped on cleaning them up pertaining on how to angle them. However I have old broken clipse so the way I have it will have to work till tomorrow.

Dang Driller....you have better illustrations then I do.....dam new computers!! LOL

I installed my 9MM according to the numbers on each wire, per cylinder. That did leave some extra lenth on a few.
Figured if its ever in a shop, the sometimes idiots that work there would wire it back in the proper order.
Was slightly dissapointed that they did not match the oems and its hard to find 9MM wire separators.

on a second gen, they are absolutley needed...they HOLD the coil packs down
On the first gen they are merely covers, which can be deleted if desired.

I'm missing the thing circled in red on my motor, is it important for it to run?

dammit.. the make ready guys must have stolen that off my car on pre-delivery prep... like they did those 2-4 barrel crossram intakes on the 69 z 28's..
The intake was in the trunk, often stolen by the theives at the dealership.. along with the front chin spoiler.
