Initial crappy pics of new wheel on my baby

M4rk, take a look at this link:

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp?item=Wheel-Tire size comparer&sw1=235&ar1=50&bd1=17&rw1=7.5&et1=60&sw2=255&ar2=35&bd2=19&rw2=8.5&et2=48&text1=LS Stock Wheel&text2=HR Racing Wheel

Look at the bottom portion of the info they provide. It shows only a .6 mph (<1% slower) discrepancy. If I stepped up to a 245/40/19, the tire would be taller (and not as wide) and the speedo would be 1 mph off (1.7% faster). The 255's were as close to no discrepancy as I could get, and I would rather err on the slower side than faster - as the faster you go, the larger the discrepancy becomes.

i got a shovel, i can dig!

damn, that second picture makes me really want to shave off my door handles.

Luebbe, that should have been in the link, but here it is:

Stock is 235/50/17 tire with a 7.5" wheel (+60 offset)

New is 255/35/19 tire with an 8.5" wheel (+48 offset)

Sorry didn't follow the link, I though it was a tire calculator.

I know people have had success with a 20X8.5 rim with a 49mm offset (Jag Sentas) with 245/35/20 so I would think as long as the overall diameter/width of the 255/35/19 is equal or smaller than that the 1mm difference should work out fine.

Oh, my apologies Tru. From the picture the difference seems to be a lot.

It's all good, M4rk. Just didn't want you guys thinking I didn't check that out before pulling the trigger. I'm still hoping that everything will be ok when they go on for the warmer months.
