Im looking to put an in-dash in my Mark 8, was wondering if anyone has one for sale good condition? or a good one i can get new that fits the best?

Well 2nd gen marks have a double din radio so 1. You could get a nice touch screen double din or 2. Get a dash kit which lets you run a single din deck. Google 1998 Lincoln mark viii dash kit and you'll have your answers. Most guys just buy a double din but it requires very minor modification to sit nice and flush.

idont want the double din that pops out, i want the one that basically looks like navigation screens on the newer cars, that are stationary and dont flip. is that what your talkin about?

"That is double din"

"single din" flips out into a screen.

How much are you wanting to spend and what features do you want it to have?
Hands free phone?
Navigation?
iPod USB coming from the rear or connections in the front?
Do you want one that will have the ability to change colors to match your interior dash lighting?

I'd like iPod hookup doesn't matter front or back, color changing to match dash lighting
Looking to spend 200-400 dollar range

Pioneer

avh-4100dvd, 4200dvd or 4300dvd. Also check out the avh-2300dvd and 3200dvd. Their faces don't move.

I know my 3200 changes color, all the above are pretty similiar feature wise.

This pic was taken last year, it's in there better now and the bottom gap has been fixed. I wanted to stay away from the dd's that had the cd/dvd slot behind the face, one less thing to break I guess. This one has a slightly smaller screen vs avh-4x00dvd but all the input's (aux, sd, usb) are on the front.

I picked up a new AVH-P4200DVD about 2 months ago for 350 and the thing is amazing for the price. It has ipod connectivity built right in, and the background and colors are customizable. I made a little background for it, It's the first post that shows up in the photoshop thread if you want to see. Movies look good on it too.

I don't know how that happened. The overall double din is the same dimension on the outside. The F700bt is a 6.5" screen. It is more than enough screen, and illuminates quite nicely. This is it in a gen 2

This is the same one I installed in my friend's F150

When I install navi's in Marks, I trim the upper part just enough to get a cage in there to support the unit. That's how I do it. I have an extra one of these units for sale.

Greg, your linked model# takes you to an antenna now. Just thought you should know, unless you sold it already.

nope. we now have something on this site that takes keywords and does something to them. like tires and radiator.
do they both have links?

edit: yep. they sure do.

I forgot about that but a lot of times, Greg will name something and install it with a link so I wasn't sure if it was one he was selling online or just one he was referring to.

I agree, 6.5" is plenty big enough. I would like to have the 6.95" Kenwood eXcelon but I can't turn loose of nearly $900 or more for one. I don't drive around enough for DVD and navigation anyway.

I just found a pic I liked and copied it to the sd card. I prefer to store my music, videos and pic's on the sd as it sit's flush with the unit and doesn't stick out like if I were to use a thumbdrive or the aux input.

P.s. Most of the options on the display(as seen) can be collapsed for a cleaner look.

I dislike Pioneer from when I used to be an installer. Love ALPINE but unless you get it used your not getting it cheap. Also no kit was needed for the install.

It sat in the dash when I originally installed it.
