It's a short clip. I folmed it today on my way home. had the camera with me, and decided to finally record a sound clip. Only problem was, a school bus about to unload kiddies was ahead, so I had to lift.

anyway, here's the set up(if you can call it that)

94 Mark VIII, stock engine.
removed intake silencers
stock exhaust manifolds
stock cats(all 3 in place)
removed exhaust resonator, replaced with straight pipe
stock all the ay to dual magnaflows
stock "appearing" 93-94 tips(turndowns)

short vid...

I wanted a clip because next week, I will have a different set up to compare with this one.

Nice, but way too loud for me. If you are into making all that racket its sweet. Personally I like my exhaust which turns "off" at 2k rpm when on the H-way. Its cat back with a double X Dynomax muffler, and two Summit polished mufflers at back, 2.5" mandrel.

Damn, I don't know if it's just me, but that seems pretty quick for being pretty much stock.

P.S. and how did you get it runnin' so smooth or is that just the tone of the magnaflos?

tractionless...I am sure your car is louderr, when recorded than it is to your ear. I am sure Geno will back me up on this...ALL exhaust systems sound louder when recorded...must have something to do with the camera(or recording device's) ability to pick up sound frequencies.

I'dunno.. but since you have 3 cats, and 3 mufflers, I am sure yours is a bit quieter. But my car is practically silent when cruising...it wakes up when I stomp it.

Oh, and the only thing that isnt "stock" performance wise, is a Mach 1 TC.

and yes...that was Pink Floyd's "run like hell"...

I think it sounds great, you could tell it shifts hard too with the J-Mod.

man you need a shift kit, Im going to post a vid of my car you will need a neck brace from whiplash from the video

M.O.D., first off, i had to lift slightly right when it shifted into second, because of some action up ahead...they turned off, so i walked back into it(you can tell by how slowly the rpms climb in second)...trust me...it'll spank the tires hard if i stay in it.

I have the JMOD in a 98 tranny, built to Jerry's specs, including a few other goodies beyond just drilling the sep. plate.

The sep plate was drilled to 350hp specs. Not as much as i want, but it'll do for now.

You know what they say, the lower your torque output, the firmer the shift..

your car's shift-firm
mine-not as firm. :F
heh heh

seriously. My old JMOD'd tranny would pretty much mimmic Geno's car into second at WOT. it did the dance. I put the lower spring back in the 1-2 to limit the harshness since i crank out 100 miles a day in this car.

eventually, the tranny took a dump due to failed forward clutch seal rings leaking. I purchased a Jerry-spec 98 4R70W from a n aquaintance. I knew what was in it, and i jumped at his offer to sell it.

It isnt as firm as my old 450hp JMOD was, but it is firm enough for me. Shifts exactly the way our 97 LSC does with a chip. It'll "eek" the tires every now and then, but trust me, it aint no "stock slippy". Oh, and it'll handle whatever hp I wish to throw its way! You should feel the 2-3 shift at 96 mph at WOT.

Nope...no shift kit needed for this tranny.

All I have to say is that the recordings of my old AssassinVIIIor sounded exactly the same in real life......you can ask anyone who ever heard it.......here are a few sound clips/vidoes.....the icecream stand burnout is not the best....I was a bit off that day, but you get the idea of the exhaust though.....

Sounds good. What are you changing to?

trying on some new mufflers, and having my way with the 3rd cat.
Muff's are 2 1/2" x 14" bullets...heard them on a few cars at the track...I dig the sound...just going to experiment again...using my car as a test mule for my buddy's 93 project car he's working on.

Nice Vids good sound if you are going for that modded car sound. Too raspy for me, I guess I am getting old fast

they are supposed to be real loud, but with the 2 1/2" reducer front and rear, along with my wimpy little 2-cat into single pipe, followed by 2 1/2" turndown tips(like stock 93-94)they shouldnt be ok. Heard them on a thunderbird...same exhaust set up as mine...very nice sound...resembled a cross between a early Cobra Borla set up, and a your old Xpansion's...rich, yet throaty...all I can say is... "we'll see"...or "we'll hear".

well, just as I thought. Not loud enough! barely louder than my magnaflows...no ear plugs needed. Just some way to get this silly grin off my face!

They are(to me) the best sounding mufflers I've heard yet. Of course, I havent heard Geno's mufflers in person yet...but as far as what I've heard from my bullets..they are like a slightly louder magnaflow(which is rich, but quiet).

$60 for the pair...30 minutes to install, miles of smiles. As soon as I open up my third cat, they'll get to the exact point I want. But for now, still a bit on the quiet side. Soon people...real soon.

Are you running stock piping or minimal piping? I have hersd these with full true duals and they were EAR SPLITTING. Plus wait a few months until they get seasoned.

OMG!!! Pink Floyd and a WOT Mark VIII!!! :D :Beer :W :L :iconcur: :yourock: :dancefool :wrench :steering :wave

Yea...I figure they'll marinade in a month or so, since I drive it so much.

I agree, these things with a full true dual, open exhaust(like your set up) would make my ears bleed. But as is...its pretty nice. Thanks to california smog-nazi's...

I think the magnaflows will sound better on our LSC, and since I have them from my 94, I can zap them on... we'll see(hear) how that goes.
