Anyone feel like a beer?

Doesn't seem to be much around where this client is at. Guess I'll go see what kind of trouble I can get into.

Since they didn't have my reserved rental, they gave me a Jeep Liberty. It does have some neat badgers on it that say "Trail Rated" and "4X4". I guess I can go play billy goat somewhere. God bless the damage waiver!

Where, when

It's all good to me. I'm just bored and ain't no point sitting in a hotel. Probably be at the clients 9-6 tues-thurs and I fly home Friday. I don't really have much of an interest in seeing the "Baldknobbers" or whatever they are. Saw about 300 billboards for them.

Looks like there is a college about 10-minutes up the road. Guess I will go cruise up there and see what looks interesting. Usually something good lurking around a college.

Gotta go to Lambert's if you haven't been. They have the throwed rolls. Starvin Marvin's down in Branson has AYCE CRAB LEGS!

Looks like I know where dinner is at. It's only 11 minutes away. Whenever I travel I refuse to eat at any restaurant I can back home. That place fits the bill perfectly!

I'll hit Starvin Marvin on the way back to Branson on Friday. Looks like a good stop.

I am in the middle of river-fish country. Where the hell can I get some good trout or walleye? We don't get that fresh in Florida. Closest you get is frozen a week old. I hope this doesn't turn out like when I went to Birmingham, AL. Wasn't able to find a single home-made soul-food or southern comfort food restaurant the whole time I was there. 500 mexican and chinese restaurants though. LOL

Already had some Famous Dave's BBQ and it was good. Even though they seem like a chain they are at least not a chain we have back home.

BassProShop in Springfield Mo.

SMS is a nice college.

Lots of TNA bars. Most college towns seem to have them. Girls got to pay her way somehow.;)

I am a good 3.5 hours from you.:(

I am a "Job" creator. LOL

Already looked at that. Google says there are 4 in springfield. Guess I will have to go verify.

Naaa, heading home on friday. Be home for a week then fly out to salem, or for a week.

Ill probably be bored there too :)

Been to kc twice. Visited a buddy who does some work at leavenworth. Had some bbq out there and went to a restaurant called the stockyard. Awesome steak :)

I went to school at SMS (now called Missouri State). Good times. Hit the square in down town or head over to Walnut Street and grab a beer or two at Ebbets Field. If you are in the mood for mexican food I recommend hitting Mexican Villa on Bennet and National, by campus, and grab a Sancho.

Enjoy Springfield, great little town.

Also, a good BBQ place is called Pappy's. I forget the street that it's on, but it's over by Drury College.

I drove by a place called Ebbets Field but it looked close with a "For Lease" sign out front. Maybe they moved?

I'll check out Walnut St tomorrow.

There is entirely too much pork around here. Thinking about moving here in order to stop it's spread :)

But if I did that, i'd be on the news: "Side of house cut out and flatbed called in to take man to hospital." :(

LOL, Only thingin the trunk is a K&N CAI, HID Projector Conversion stuff, and some Angel Eyes. Hopefully that won't be there by the end of next week though :)

do anything fun today?

Not today. Went down by Walnut street into a bar and two drunk college kids were being dicks to everyone. Ended up kicking the bar stool out from under one and threw his friend down on top of him. Yet another reason why I quit going to bars and drinking. My ability to tolerate bullcrap and people declines drastically and I become impulsive.

Ohh well. Was nice up until that point.

Had some friends drive over from KC for the night. Took them out to Lamberts since they had never been. He got hit in the head with a bread roll. Laughed my ass off about that. Drove around Nixxa (sp?) and he was saying how it's all grown up and changed. Nice country out that way, started to look like we were driving into a norman rockwell painting at a few points. Got back to the hotel and just visited. Haven't seen him in probably 2 years.

Other then that haven't done much. At the clients from 9 till 6 or so. I need to be face first into a pillow by 10 or 11 if I am going to be worth a damn so I don't have a lot of time to really get neck-deep into anything. Tomorrow is the last day at the clients then I fly home at 3:30p on Friday so I might try to go get into trouble somewhere. Depends on how I feel after talking for 3-days straight for 7-8 hours.

In Joplin, there was a joint called Pizza by Stout. It was blown away by the tornado last year unfortunately.

I can't believe you all were trying to keep Springfield's best known culinary creation away from me: Cashew Chicken

Bwahahahahahahaha. That's the weirdest thing I've ever seen at a Chinese Restaurant, and it's EVERYWHERE here! Ohh well, I had a plate, it wasn't bad, but I think I'll put it on the "Been there, tried it" list. :)

Finally home. Thanks for the pointers all. Met my buddy and had a great time. It's a nice place and I wouldn't hesitate to stop there next time I am going through.
