I'm really done with these cars, I have wasted allot of time and money with these thing's and just want out of the game. I want something not to worry about all the time. I'm getting married soon and just lost my job and was in an accident a month ago. My life has gone down the shlt tubes and I have to do this.

I'm still going to be on the board but I haven't been able to enjoy the mark for two years and frankly just don't want to. Sorry but things have to be done. I really appreciate all the help every one has given me and just want some one else to have fun finishing my work.

Life is hitting vary hard right now and this is a small way out of this hole I'm in.
 
Well good luck with whatever you decided to do. Sorry to hear all thats gone wrong, life can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Hopefully you can find a new job soon. Best of luck to you.
 
maby you should ask for help on your car some times then we could get it on the road so you could like it agin

Am I the only one that finds it humorous that you grouped getting married into what has been leading to your life "going down the shlt tubes"... ;) Cheer up man it is not the end of the world it is just a car and jobs come and go.

Sorry about the job...life sucks sometimes.
You didnt get hurt in the accident I hope.
One day when things look up you will want to go back to playing in the garage, think long and hard before you sell out.... it took a long time and alot of luck to come up with all the parts you have got your hands on when you want to get back in it will cost you more.
If you are set on selling out maybe the kid and I can work a deal.
I dont have the room for the tons of stuff you have.
Hope things turn around for you.
 
Sorry to hear of your troubles. I've been there, done that.

Unfortunately it has been my experience that "Project" vehicles bring about $ .05 to $.10 on the dollar invested. :(

I've experienced it and seen it happen to others. This is a generalization.

My '66 Mustang was that way. Well over $20K invested brought $3500. The custom front suspension alone was $3000.

This info does not help your situation and is depressing I know, but unfortunately it is so true.

I've done several major projects since then and I like you got rid of everything I had dealing with autos.

I moved to boats then. Ha!

What I learned.

You need to be diligent and find what you want. Educate yourself and don't impulse buy. That is still very hard for me to do.
Buy a clean running piece with all the bells and whistles.
Used vehicles that are optioned out don't demand that much more money and are a bargain.
If you find other vehicles that your interested in down the road. A extra $1500 to $2000 investment usually saves you money, as parts and or labor add up real quick to offset that extra investment.

If I had the extra money, I'd be all over that but I myself have a project car (my wrecked 96) and money is short. Not to mention all the time and setbacks that I've had to deal with. It's disheartening and at times I have thought about scrapping the idea and selling it as is.

Fortunately, I have loving, understanding, and stubborn people in my life that have seen the time it has taken me to collect all the parts to put her back together, that they won't allow me to scrap the idea. It's in the body shop now and paint is still a few months out and money is still short, but I'll get her done somehow.

Like ford nut said, think about it, don't make a rash decision that you might regret later. The economy sucks, money is tight, and jobs are scarce but seeing my 96 all finished with fresh paint will put a smile on my face still.

I did try boats I have two in back that are endless projects, fortunately I have vary little invested in to those. And they can just sit and wait.

Its not that I don’t want to see this car done, I really do. But I'm just so hard up for cash that I would rather see it go and pay bills. I probably have over 10k invested into this mark, if not more.

I dint mean for the marriage thing to sound bad, that actually is the one thing keeping me afloat right now. Yes the future wife is in Kuwait, but her grandmother passed away yesterday and she might be coming home for a week before she has to go back and finish her T.O.D. I haven’t told her about not having a job any more it just seems like every time I talk to her I have bad news. I'm got beat up a little from the accident but I'm fine now. It probably was one of the reasons I don’t have a job now

I still pretty serious, I have done a lot of thinking and I know that I have a lot of time invested and if I get rid of it now and start over it will be even harder to find. Plus If I still want to tinker with a car the wife has her 94 GT that is still running and looking nice.

So I'm not 100% on giving up just done for now. If it doesn't sell I could really use the help. Especially with painting I would just not like to have to come home from work just to spend 5 hours more working on a car every night. I'm even going to try and sell my motorcycle and my toolbox. Anything to get out of debt.
 
that sux man, hell sell the boats, they are money pits. i got one aint seen water in 3 years.........its been paid off for a while so that dont matter too much but if i run into money troubles thats the first to go
 
Sorry to hear all this... I'm trying to figure out away to help you out.. don't think my wife would go of me dropping te $4500 right now... but boy I sure could help you out with the parts.
 
an 06 VTX 1300C, I like it but want it gone so we can get a house

if no one take the whole crop I might start to sell some parts we will see
 
I owe 7500 on it but still has 4 years left on the warenty, 4500 miles, comes with sissy bar, CC, helmit and jacket. just had the valves ajusted and the oil changed.

I'm still paying off the debt I fell into when I was laid off almost 5 years ago. It sucks but you keep going. I'm assuming that your now well enough to work so.....the best advice I have for you is to get a temporary job until you get back on your feet. Every week that goes by waiting for your ideal job is one less weeks income you could have. Anything helps and the longer you wait the more depressed and overwhelmed you'll get. You don't want to go down that road alone. With my wifes support I kept up my spirits as best I could until we got back on our feet. Still not out of the hole but were getting there. I'm sure it must be extra hard trying to emotionally support your wife from so far away and deal with everything at home by yourself. Sometimes these things can help you re-set your goals. Don't just get your job back, get a better one. Sometimes there just aren't alot of jobs where you live so you have to make due with whatever you can find. Enough rambling.......get a job, sell off some parts to keep your head up until you get a good job. Most importantly be there for your wife, sounds like she really needs you now. Don't forget, you have a huge support group here on LVC!

Looking at your photos and reading your posts, I'd say you have a lot of stuff that I never had. Your own four walls, awesome bike, the money to tinker and build and bring things to life.

It's odd, I got laid off from my job a few months ago (hopefully temporary, like last year), and had a couple grand in the bank. So I celebrated by buying a one-owner LSC that pretty much landed in my lap. Love at first sight. Well, no... first sight I thought "You need a good WASHING, beeyotch!" :)
Girlfriend was like "You're now outta work and you're buying a WHAT?"
She worries too much. In spite of the fact that I brought her to this town on a wing and a prayer, with no prospects and no worries, bought her the Pathfinder she drives, pay the insurance on it, yada yada. But then, chicks are like that.
Put in my app for a part-time gig today, it'd be one that I can continue to do for car-money once my full-time needs me back.
And in the meantime, the car has led me to LVC, which is the home of a lot of righteous folks. Besides a lot of driving that I normally wouldn't have done, just because it's fun.

What's my point?
I guess it's that life is a dance. Sometimes we sit there with our drink in our hand and gaze out over the sawdust floor. Sometimes we feel the music and move.

And the only thing that's certain is that somebody is gonna chime in to tell me that my analogy is dumb as hell.
