I need a part

Anyone have a right rear axle for my 2002 Lincoln LS??? I have a vibration/rumbling at 40-50 mph, just had it on the lift and the wheel bearings are not noisy, but the passenger side axle seems bent, it does not spin true, wobbles.

Also, how do these axles come out from the differential??? Are they like a typical Mustang where you have to remove the cover and take the pin out and remove the C-clip or do they just clip in with a clip on the axle where all you would need to do is pry the axle out from the outside???

Like any other IRS (cobra..Mark8) they just "pop" out of the housing. There are spring clips holding them in. The axle retails for 359. and LVC is 269.99 plus shipping.

I hope I don't ever have to replace one of those.
But first you should rotate your tires and see if the rumble changes.

Already balanced and rotated, no change, that is what made me put it on a lift, start the engine, put it in gear and accelerate to 40-50 mph where it happens and look and listen around, what I noticed was the r/rear shaft wobbling like it is bent or one of the CV joints are bad.

I dont think a pothole would bend the shaft, does have me wondering WTF did cause it??? I would not imaging the harsh shifts could do it????

Yep just pop out you don't have to remove the cover.

I imagine one of the joints are whacked.

Hard shifts......maybe. I haven't a problem yet and I've had mine slammin shifts for awhile now.

I PM'd him and he said they are different??? I am just wondering if anyone could comfirm that so I know to only look for 2002 and down. I dont understand if the center section is supposedly interchangeable why the axles would be different. And when I look them up an a ford parts online they say 2000-2003 is the same???
