So today I threw some repair plates on the mark to drive it around a bit, I get to a stop light and I am up next to a Civic SI (late 90s or early 2000's) , my car being completely stock I thought it would be more than funny to give it a rev , he responded with a "Yo lets race bro" I was like dude my car has 247k on the whole drive train but alright. I spanked him by a car or two within about 700 feet or so. He says lets take it to the high way, I just snickered and thought if he couldn't beat me from a dig then he is going to be really embarrassed, we started at a 65 mph roll and I pulled instantly, my guess is I was doing about 110 by the time he hit 85 lol.

Was my first race and I won, as far as being in the mark goes.

Oh and I got my all black interior (everything I need to convert it over after its painted and the new engine is installed), I ended up doing the entire front end over and I am waiting to replace all the bushings in the rear now.

Civic's are a joke. lol. I played with one the other day. Got him bad with the old 60-55 drop. we were rolling beside each othere at 60 and he started givin me the go. as he picked up to 65-70, i dropped to 55. Then i blew past him before he could say "wtf?" I love the smell of burnt rice.:D

Well you know the Mark VIII comes with a 6 bang under the hood.

I was told this the other day by a salesman in a KIA dealership. Had to take my wife's car in for a recall.

I laughed ... what? No Mark VIII ever came with a 6. He kept telling they did.. I told him not to get it confused with a LS and that before he sells cars he should know them.

Nice kill!!! Watch out for the new civic si their quicker tha you would think.

99% of my racing buddies are Ricers. I only know another V8 lover like me & he too owns a Mark VIII. The others either have the Integras, Civics, or the S2000, etc... It's the new era, our V8 Beasts are slowly fading. It's sad but true. Now I even see some weird Scions on the street with exhaust, decals etc... Gonna have to pull out my lawnmower & race them. It's sad to see that today's youth prefers the 4 bangers. :(
Worst one is my friend Jeremy, his daily driver is a 2002 Lightning, his race car is a darn 95 CIVIC Hatchback! WTF?!?!?!?!

Its definitely a generation thing, but then you can't say much when American car company's kept killing affordable muscle cars.

I am 20, I had my 4 banger stage, but it was the right stage. 1984 Mustang SVO, then I moved onto a 5.0 Capri, now this. The Mark VIII is the slowest of the two by far too.

Man I had my ricer stage too. 300Z with a Stillen GTR body, RX-7 2+2 with the most obnoxious exhaust, Supra with a ginormous single turbo and the 5" muffler, a Petit Racing RX-7 R1.... stickers, lights and all. From there I went to Porsche 944's (3 of them) and then a last year air cooled 911 Turbo, a Ferrari, TT Audi S4 but I finally went back to my roots and American V-8s. Since then I have been through 3 Cobras, 4 Foxes, 3 Vetts and a couple cop cars.

I love a good american V-8 the most though. I know the LS engines are spectacular but my favorite engine out of them all is a Teksid 32V.
I want to build a 96-98 Cobra so bad with the Teksid block, 04 heads and the medium size Whipple running 650 rwhp backed by a T-56 and 3.55s. Throw the entire MM suspension book at the car and some 6-piston Willwoods up front and 4-piston in the rear.

It would be sex! I love the 96-98 body the most and with all those mods it would spank ALMOST anything it came up against

My 4 banger was faster than all the v8s I have owned, it was rear wheel drive and posi, and was still american.
