1995 LINCOLN Mark VIII. Power sunroof. Everything good. Motor bad. $650. 309/697-6415 Bartonville. 9/24.

So I called the owner, tells me its a LOW MILEAGE car, new brakes, needs tires, good interior. But #2 cylinder has no compression, of course being a 95 I immediately think broken valve spring, something that I think I can handle.

So I show up to look at it. not a bad looking car at all, couple small dings, but nothing major. Open the hood, everything looks normal, never been cleaned, but normal. He was right, tires are junk. Started the car, definitely misses, but does still run and drive pretty good. Interior is in real nice shape, no rips, tears or stains.

At this point I am seriously considering making an offer. I decide to get back inside, and as I sit in the drivers seat I see the odometer. 212000. I dont know about you guys, but 212k is NOT low mileage to me. Instantly I tell the guy id think about it and let him know.

Wow. some people.

The funny part is I took the 96, and as he came out of the house we introduce ourselves, and I point to the LSC. He says "what kind of car is that?" What the hell is wrong with this guy? Is he blind? lol

Well thats my rant for the day.

You didn't tell me about the part where you actually drove your 96, I thought it only left the garage for Boscobel :D

$300 would be good to make it a parts car. The block will sell for that much if you tear it down and clean it up.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It was like when Kid and I were headed to Stillwater to work on my car and a clean gen I rolled up. I don't think the guy had a clue as to what we or he himself was driving! Shoot me in the face when automobiles become mere transportation to me... :D

Wow, lol... the lack of knowledege sometimes is astonishing.

doesnt that just blow your mind, when someone can own a kind of unique car such as a mark viii and then not know your car was a mark also?

i know some guys who truly do not evenknow what 4cyl,6cyl,8cyl means.

i understand if some women dont know, but how does a guy not know basic engine types,i mean i am not expecting them to tell me HP,and displacement, but just know what the different types are in reference to.

i guess there is probably lots of non car things that i would not understand, but come on, we all drive, we should know basic car stuff before we ever get a license.
