Would you spend the money for a Traclok and 3:55 gears or keep the stock 3:08's how much of a difference would I get going to the 3:55's?


I am already getting a diablo chip.is it worth the money?

+1000 on the trac-lok, not so much on the 3.55 gears. If it were me, I'd do 4.10 I don't know about the chip though.
 
3.55 is a waste. People here tell me the 3.73s I want are a waste but I am doing them anyway since ya gotta pull the gears for a Trac Loc install anyway.
Trac Loc wont only make the car launch harder but you can put down more power through the corners as well.
 
going from 327 LSC gears to 355 gears is lunacy.

I went from 308 gears to 373's and the difference was mediocre at best.

Unless you make a full ratio jump
308 to 410
327 to 430
your likely gonna be really dissappointed in the outcome.

I went from base model 308 gears to 373's and nary a day passes that I didn't wish I'd gone with 410s or 430's.

IF you do 410's and after the fact you feel it's too much gear, I'll trade you my FRPP 373 Cobra center section for it.

I've made this offer to no less than a dozen people, and.. I'm STILL stuck with these crappy 373 gears.
 
Well if you want to know what not to pay just ask the Mistress what she paid the first time LOL ....


She is making up for it by going like a bat out of hell at every stoplight.
 
Crap, 4.10's.... My 97 LSC spins like a top in the rain with stock gears.

I am saving vacation days for the winter time, cause there is no way I'm driving this car in the snow. :eek:
