Well i have two questions, i dont want to buy the wrong part...

I wanna make sure these are the same exaust systems to put in my 2001 ls i want this system...

http://www.autoanything.com/exhaust...spx?kc=ffsku&gclid=CJOi0N7stq4CFWOMtgodUAq8nA

but the one im gonna buy i think it is the same exact system but just a different picture

http://autoplicity.com/products/393...tent=393057NOFITMENT&utm_campaign=GSNOFITMENT

The one above is the one i want to buy... It says i have to use the old rubber resonators... im not sure what those are but if i want to use old rubber parts id rather buy new ones for a better seal and sound... i cannot find where to buy these resonators or how many i need to buy.

Thank you so much for your help

I would say the first link more resembles your exhaust system. The second not at all.
If you go to the Magneflow website and look up the system they have for your car and compare it to the part number on other sites you can check it yourself.

The part number match. Check for hidden costs at Autoplicit, or see if another site will beat that price by 10%.

The first is the Magnaflow complete cat-back system. It will was designed for the 2000-2002 LS and will be a perfect fit. You will want to replace the down-turned tips for straight back tips; that will help a ton with the sound. You will need to cut the rear valance some to make room for the new tips.

The second link looks like a fart-can for a ricer.

Is the op's car a 3.9? I never saw him say that it was but also assumed it was.

I never knew it crossed. I have Magnaflow catback on my 3.9 but never had a reason to see what part number was for the v6. Cool....learned something new. :).

Really? I've heard this before but not so sure if it would sound much different

i havent got tips yet just stock turn downs for mag cat back system they are so short they sit up inside car and arent visible to other drivers id really like to get straight tips but i doubt when i do it will help a ton with the sound

With the turn-downs the exhaust "noise" is bounced around under the car and in that huge void where the stock mufflers sit. The straight tips send that sound out of the rear.

i just bought magnaflow mufflers, do you even need tips? i have an 02 ls so you wouldnt see the mufflers anyways because there are no cut outs. instead of putting turn downs i was thinking of just not putting on tips. is that a good idea?

That is not a good idea. You will need some sort of tips to get the exhaust past/beyond the bumper cover, or else the heat will met it. Do the cutouts and get tips, or get turn downs... one or the other.

ok, thank you. i am considering just cutting the lower valence for tips, not actually cutting into the bumper. it looks just as good and isnt that much of a hassle
