im new to here and im looking for some advice because i love my car

i have a couple things i need to fix

1. the back of the passenger seat is half hanging off because one of the clips is broken off

2. the a post on the passnger side leaks water when it rains for a few days

3. there is a thud noise coming from the car when i hit bumps. i got the bushings replaced about a year and a half ago and that was not the problem.

anybody have any info on how to fix any of these problems?
id really appreciate any info

and the ceiling is starting to droop a bit right by the rear window. should i just velcro it or glue it or what?

Other than buying a new seat back, a common failure, try this:http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=41935&highlight=fix+seat+back

If you have a moon roof, the drain hose comes loose, reattach hose. Do a search on moon roof water leak.

The head liner, another common failure, glue new Velcro strips, use Gorilla Glue or epoxy.

SEARCH and TECH ARTICLES at the top of the page can be very helpfully.

Wow gcwimmer that's a good writeup I didn't know existed! I have this happening on my drivers seatback too.

ben, the water leak could be bad weather striping or someone bent the window frame area trying to break into the car and it's not sealing well. The thud could be a swaybar link and I think I have the same thud sound. If I get to checking before you I'll let you know what I find.

thanks for all the helpful information. im just a poor college kid so i was hoping for some cheap fixes and it looks like you came through for me i really appreciate it

thanks for keeping me posted mechanicboy. i will do the same if i figure out what in the world the problem is.

i dont have much time to work on my car bc im in college but i did get the velcro strips back on with epoxy, hopefully i used enough of it. im sure i will have questions for you guys when i get around to the other issues

finallly fixed the seatback and re glued the velcro. cross two problems off the list

You probably have a moonroof if that is the case then the drain hose came loose do a search on this forum is a very easy fix and all you need is a wire tie I had the same issue on my ls.

I had the thuds. It was swaybar links, luckily I had just bought the car and the dealer installed a whole new sway bar assembly. Get it checked out before it gets worse. This way at least you know what's wrong and can get an action plan in place to save up. Lincolns have great rides. That's what you deserve to have in this car.
