I Did a bad thing

I'll be 29 in July.

sounds like you got one more year with the LS, then you will be forced to sell the LS and buy a Continental, ten years after that and it will be time for a towncar. LOL JK

Damn, Im going to be an agonizing 20 in 9 months...
LOL, 20, Any hoo Mad Props to Nick for comeing over and freezing his ass off with me in my garage and haveing a few Brewhahs and finding out my Car got more fubared then I originaly thought with my stupid, what i thought was small, pole incident. have decided to bite bullet and pay the 500 deductable and have shop repair all, Fornt end, And dent....Sigh. thanks again Nik. Oh and About the next Minnesota meet, I can tell you this, It is gonna be the biggest and best yet.

Yeah, I talked to him while he was in your garage. I thought it sounded like steering rack. And that's a dealer only thing, since they have to recalibrate the steering angle sensor. Well, maybe one could do all the work, and just bring it to them to calibrate the sensor.

EDIT: After looking at an exploded drawing, maybe inner tie rod.

sounds like some $$$$$ mine was pulling right so i went to the dealer for an alignment and they called back an hour later and said i was looking at 1500-2000$, ball joints, tie rod, and a bent rim...

Damn, not another ls going down. Did bambi want to get a closer look at your ls and get too close?

what! Why are you driving it lol.... winter beater??

Road trip for Christmas shopping. The LS doesn't have a gaping hole in the cab floor like the truck.

Damn, not another ls going down. Did bambi want to get a closer look at your ls and get too close?

Nope. Just hit a spring or something. Its still sticking out or the tire. I'm riding on the spare.

The thing that sucked was I had left my jack and breaker bar in the garage, and I was about an hour from home. There was a side road about 200 yards from where I stopped, so I drove over there while there was still air in the tire. They had a scissor jack, and a socket/ratchet set. It's a BITCH to loosen lug nuts with a 6" long ratchet. NO leverage.

SO I put the 16" spare on (on which is a 10 year old tire  ) and make the last 30 miles. No one in that town could help me with a damn tire. Unless I wanted to wait 3-4 hours. With a 2 year old, that ain't gonna happen. So I go to Sears to see if they will at least put a new tire on the spare. "If the size isn't listed on the door jamb, we won't." F*cking pricks.

Had to drive all the way home on the spare too. It's at the shop now getting a new tire on the 17" AND the spare.

Well Here I am, Still debating on car, Waiting on call back from Nick, He was thinking of maybe taking apart the Rack..Or whatever the heck it is. My steering has gotten much worse, Seems like the Right wheel is ready to go its own direction , But hey , what do I know. Oh welll Pray for me, LOL.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner paul. Your message said you were in no hurry and then my car took another crap on me on sunday, so I kinda forgot about ya. When do you want to take another look at it? I need to deal with my car, but should have it done this week. Why don't you give me a call sometime today when you ahve time.

Thanks pete for finding that thread. Too bad the pics are no longer up though. I'll have to do a little more research myself before doing this job, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Sure thing. I just put it up to encourage you. Now you know that someone can change it out without bringing it to the dealer, and without removing the rack altogether.

I thought it was also a good idea to just get a new boot, instead of trying to not damage teh one on there. Expecially if it's only 12 bucks like that thread says.
