First I want to say thanks to you guys for all the information, that's posted.
I have a 02 ls v8 and recently it started over heating with the A/C on ,reading through the forum, the info posted here helped me narrow it down, to the acuator on the HCF pump. The part cost 180, dealer wanted to replace the system, for way to much, I came across a post forget the guys, name but he say his dad paid the dealer to get his fixed, but he tried the sea foam trans tune.
So I figure hey what could it hurt, bought two cans, used half of it, no result thought o well. Pour the rest in there and forgot about it. Then at least two months later the fan just kicked in and went to hi speed, I just bought another can today, poured it in and instantly started seeing bubbles from the resovior filter. Gave it some gas and the fan is working like a charm.
I don't think you have to replace the actuator all the time , in a situation where the fan spins constant. I think that over time the acuator gets gummed up and needs cleaning.
Also I put it in the power steering and wow what difference it made.
