The 3rd light on my 01LS was out so the warning light came on, so I replaced the light and it works fine, but the warning is still showing. All the other lights are working fine, nothing burned out. How do you turn off the warning light? Ok, I checked the new bulb a second time, it is the correct bulb and it works, rechecked all the lights at night, they all work, disconnected the battery (the warning light went out, but came back on 20 seconds later) WTF?

The warning stops automatically when the fault (burnt out bulb) is corrected. Did you use the correct # bulb?

I can verify that the warning automatically stopped on my 04 when I replaced the burned out front turn signal bulb. (Both times, first the left, then the right about two months later.)

Reset button?

As far as I know there is no reset button on this car. This car just has the little lights not the message center. I would think that the warning would reset by itself, but no. Yes I did put in the correct bulb and it does work.

There's nothing to reset. The system is testing the circuit all the time, and it is apparently failing all of the time.

Have you checked all of the bulbs? Both for signal function and for parking light function?

yes, unless i missed something

headlights, high beams, fogs, turn signals, backup lights, rear turn signals, trunk light, license plate lights, interior visor lights, overhead lights, brake lights, have i missed anything?

Fixed,fixed,fixed

Disconnected battery 5 min, reconnect, no more warning light!!! Thank you! Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! came back on in 20 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang! it's right back on again!

ok, 20 seconds after I started to drive the light came back on. waited till dark and checked all the lights again everything is working, rechecked the bulb I put in the 3rd light, its the correct one, and the warning is on. WTF?

did you use an LED bulb?

LEDs without the right resistor will look like there is no bulb to the computer testing the circuit.

I realize that the center brake light is the only bulb that you recently changed, but are you sure that all the other bulbs are the correct part number? If so, you may have a problem with either the REM (it monitors/controls the rear bulbs) or the FEM (front bulbs).

I think I'd try replacing all the exterior bulbs (even though they are lighting up) first.

Its a 3157K.

Im not sure if that would provoke your issue tho.

For the center brake light, are you sure? (3156 sounds right to me, but I have gen II, so I wouldn't know. 3157 is correct for the normal brake lights.)

Yup, page 237 in the manual.

Page 237 clearly says
"High-mount brakelamp 3156K"

Damn! I f*cking pulled a Re-Pete on myself!

I never got passed the tail lamp, brake lamp and just assumed!:slam

Man, I deserve the heat on this one.

But that clarifies that its not the issue at least:D

Found it! Thanks

Joegr thanks for the tip on checking in all modes, I never opened the book on the light switch to learn what all it does. So I thought I'd try again, switching to different modes, and there is was! A front bump running light was burned out. Now, how do you get the dang thing out?????????? Thanks to all that helped!

All fixed, but now what?

3 lights burn out in a week! Now the check engine light is on! Replaced plugs on the left (easy side) found oil in the last plug hole! Just paid $2000 for a hydraulic fan replacement last month. 01V6 109k miles. Love this car, but man the quality control sucks!
