How to correct speedometer mileage?

I want to install a set of white face gauges in my gen 2...im going to try on another gauge cluster so i dont wreck mine. Question is, how do i correct the mileage to actual mileage on the new unit (which is obviously going to be different miles then the one i have)

Ford dealers all suck around here..is there a way i can do this myself?

You'd need some expensive FORD software/hardware like the WDS in the least, I would think

Ask google about "FORD odometer mileage correction" or "speedometer changing" or something like that.

I thought the mileage was stored in the engine computer, not the cluster?

Um... I don't think so, I've changed PCM's before and the mileage was the same. Could be wrong though. It's happened once or twice before.

It's stored in the cluster... call a Ford dealership and ask them....

Probably not something you'll be able to do yourself, due to the whole legality issue. I know that you're not actually doing something illegal, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I figured as much. Wonder what the stealership would charge for such a service.

Downtime and/or if it doesnt come out right. I would also like to keep my original.
