On a 97-98 stock mark how much has anyone gained on the dyno from just this mod?

I've done a search and saw no dyno results. I'm curious what this mod truly adds?

Just my 2 cents, just look at the H.P of the Mark in LSC trim/Dual exhaust at 295H.P and look at the Cobra at 305H.P. The only difference the Cobra has a forged crank the mark dos not and the Cobra has a couple of degrees cam duration to raise the power band a bit lighter car ect..... so I would say stock for stock swap 10H.P.

The marks have C.O.P. ignition.

I gained about 30whp from stock with all my mods. but mine is a short runner intake

Yeah but you also have an opened up intake and exhaust with those aftermarket mods so they work hand in hand to exemplify each other. I'm curious as to the benefits of solely adding a Cobra intake to a Mark VIII with no other supporting mods?

Has anyone done a before and after dyno with a stock Mark VIII (no other bolt ons) with a Cobra intake?

If you want the best of both worlds go with a gen1 intake. Good broad torque curve and decent upper end horse power.

The best way to find out is go run your car on a dyno....then buy my Cobra Intake off Ebay.... Item number: 290320347860 :)

Dont know about the dyno, but the seat of the pants is great if you have exhaust, and chip.

Best $100 I ever spent on the mark.

what kind of chip do you have chadly? ive thought about chipping my mark but really dont know too much about it

I dont think my current tune is a "propper" tune. Its a chip I got 5 years ago from dennis reinhardt. I didnt notice much diference with it in or out.

I'm still researching what my next type of tune will be. It will be something by SCT, just not sure yet what I want.

+1 on Lidio.... he does good work...

I would personally just get a pro racer package and then you can tune your own :q:q:q:q for as long as you own the car with no added costs...

Lidio has experience thousands of cars. You have experience tuning one. I think Lidio would make the better tune... but if you want to learn yourself and do it yourself there's obviously more satisfaction in that.

Eh, any professional tuner working with a dyno isn't gonna be cheap and if you're the average Mark VIII guy on here your car isn't gonna be spending much time there. Your own time is free, so you can spend as much time as you want on it.

I would put money on my tune being better.... not because I'm an amazing tuner or anything but because the amount of time I have spent on my tune... If you paid an SCT dealer to spend as much time as I have, well you better have a lot of $$...

Also, from now until I get rid of this car I will be able to tune, retune, and tune my car again all for the initial investment of $500ish... no having to go back for $100 reburns or any of that BS... It is also nice to have a product that allows me to make any changes and never have to worry about calling up some "tech" to send me some bandaid patch file to fix what should never break...

On the dyno you can see the A/F ratio and the horsepower graphs... Do you have your wideband hooked up yet?

How much do you have ?

Bring it here on the 16th of this month, we'll be at Alternative doing couple marks again, so maybe we all can learn something
