How much should I pay to have the rear wheel bearings replaced?

I've been told that I need to have my rear wheel bearings replaced (possibly due to me smashing one of the rear wheels into a curb a couple of years ago).
I've done the fronts myself, and it wasn't too bad of a job, since it's just one sealed hub unit.
What about the rears, though? It looks like you can't just buy the whole thing and snap it on there like the fronts, can you?
So I will need to have the bearings pressed in, it looks like, and I don't want to mess with that myself. A local shop quoted me about $330 for both sides - about 4 hours of labor.
Does that sound about right?

Rears are not as easy as fronts, have to be pressed in/out.

I did the remove/replace of hubs myself and had dealer do bearings @ $40 a side. Don't remember cost of bearings.

Labor sounds high to me. I can have a rear hub off in under 30 minutes with hand tools on jackstands. 20 minutes to r/r bearings.

If a shop does it, make sure they use new crush nuts on the axles and not re-use the ones they take off.

+2 just pull both rear knuckles off the car and take that to the shop and have them press them in

What about wheel alignment? You are removing the knuckle.

I would also remove the knuckles and have a shop just do the pressing... but thats me...

I gotta do the same thing soon. (both sides have play and the main nuts were torqued to spec)

Removing knuckles yourself and having a local shop press out / press in, then re-fitting yourself sounds like a good plan, then take it for a rear alignment yourself.

if i recall correctly all the adjustments are on the inner mount of the arm.........

Yeah, camber is adjusted by the inner bolt of the upper arm. As for toe - no idea, haven't really looked yet. :lol:

yeah thats what i thought, so id lean towards no need for a alignment
