Let's say a 96 LSC in GREAT running shape, with 4.10's (do you recommend 4.30 or 4.56??) and lock, silencer removed, mufflers removed, with a GOOD launch....how fast..??

1/4 mile?

0-60?

Would i still have that highway crazy top end speed (65-90mph)? Keep in mind i have NO INTEREST in going over 110mph.

I'm guessing 14.50 1.4 w/ 6.2 0-60??
 
Top end... shouldn't be much of an issue; Redline in OD will still get in excess of 150MPH.

I did a lot of math and figuring for different gear ratio's with different transmissions (4R70W and T-56) in the performance thread; if you search you may be able to find it. But, I think I was a touch off on the tire over-all diameter, so the exact RPM's may be a touch off. But you'll be able to see the differences between the ratios, top speed in each gear and max speed.

Someone else could chime in on performance results expected.

BTW... I'd steer clear of a locker... limited slip would be the best bet unless you're going to turn it into a track car.

With a relatively stock car and 4.10's mid 14's is very realistic... and as far as top end goes 150 mph isn't unrealistic.... 0-60, meh, who cares.

0-60 some people care about that kid.
 
A lot of depends on your stock times.

My 97 stock averaged 15.6 with a fastest of 15.3
After exhaust, 4.10's, chip, and JMOD it it ran 14.6

So you can look at taking close to 1 sec off your stock times, at least thats what I did.

:D 14.50?:D Most Gen 1's run mid 14's stock. With 4.10/4.30 & especially 4.56's ALL day LOW 14's or 13's.
 
yea i was thinking a high high 14 if not super low 15....till I got Geno's chip.....14's defenitely!!! I'm tellin dad to bring on his impala ss!
 
You know my 93 base had the busted spring (chirped 2nd hard) and was fully tuned up with fluids, filters etc, i swear it my 96 lsc IS faster. When i test drove it, the second i mashed the gas, it "roared" much louder, maybe due to the dual exhaust...but overall it does pull harder, atleast i think so.

Could also be that extra little oomph the 3.27's give it. Another thing, now that my lsc has straightpipe in place of mufflers (93 same thing done, along with piped resonator), the lsc burns the tires up with half throttle-the 93 base i had to floor it then it would burn em up.

Again, it could be due to the slight difference in gearing..i don't know.
 
I ran a 14.01 at 101 with 4.10 gears in 70 degree weather on nitto drag radials shallow staging obviously.
