Mine now has over 200K on the clock.. I still drive it 84 miles every day 365 a year... Everyday I drive it like its going to be its last.. however i have driven it to its resting place tonight.. its at a repair shop.. its needs some help.

Im getting her outfitted with new intake gaskets, cleaning the IMRC runners, oil change, valve cover gaskets and seals, thermostat, and radiator hoses, vacuum tee's and some hose thats rotted.. i think with the new amount of vacuum, it will be running right as rain.. and oh yea replacing passenger bank IMRC actuator... that should be enough.

haha well i guess im not the only one who drives the unholy :q:q:q:q out of their car. Especially since i have the 4.10 gear. the first gear pull is very intoxicating and is only going to get better when i get my x pipe in (comes tomorrow) and get it tuned later this month.

I drive the 97 like I'm 63 years old (which I am) and the 93 aka BONED like I'm 17 years old (which I'm not)

I see these a lot, oddly most just want to check out the car, the others wanna search it[/QUOTE]

Sap, that is too funny. The last time I saw a State Trooper do a u-turn in the rear view window, I zipped into a graveyard, got out, and started praying at some random stone.

The officer pulls into the yard, DID NOT interrupt me, then gave me a warning about my speed. I gotta tell you - I have NEVER gotten a warning from a State Trooper before. If they pull you over, get ready for a ticket - plain and simple.

How do I drive? Well, according to my gf, like an old man (I try to keep the speed down to avoid constables and poor mpg). Then other times when I was to haul butt or smoke some tires, I get yelled at that we aren't teenagers anymore! I just can't win... :p

I drive my prairie tan 97 normal but I beat my 93 a bit. The power tends to tempt me at times.

Read above... DITTO! :D Something about the power of a '93.

THIS IS CLASSIC! :headbang: That's something I would've never thought of.

Most of the time I'm "hypermiling" but not to an extreme. I just go easy on the brakes and throttle. I get 27 mpg on highway trips on a semi-unmaintained 170ish thousand mile car.

I drive normal. 90% of the time don't do more than 5 over the speed limit. Occasionally I'll gun it from the red light just because someone is acting like they've got the fastest thing on the road.

My proudest moment in the short time I've had the mark was a little "race" from a red light against a buddy from work with an all stock 2010 charger and winning.

I have to admit I only bought mine because it was the best deal at the time and I needed a car asap. 93k miles with no issues other than the oil pan gasket and I was getting it for $2,000. Now that I've had for a while I'm considering buying something else for my daily commuting and keeping the miles off it.

normal

I drive my 98 CE as it should be a CE I drive my wifes 95 likes whats gonna break next. Always clear their throats getting on the freeway, and thats fun. Can't worry about milage, my DD is a 1 ton PU at 12mpg,6.0 with 4;10s 4X4.

I would find it hard to believe anyone could drive mine normal. There has been a running joke I should name the car Smiley since everyone who drives it or rides in it comes back with a big smile :D

Hell Man let me try I'll let you know how that works out...

(Quietly snickers in the corner saying "Right after I get back from ATCO" ) LMAO...:D:D:D

if the tires were not smoking, i must not have been driving it!

every Lincoln that i have owned has had more foot into it than a dog that constantly pisses on the rug.

There is no option for with both fingers crossed hoping nothing else breaks :D

It mainly sits in the shop, i have put maybe 500 miles on it this year.

I was about as close to "drive it like you stole it 24/7" as you can get with my 93, and it was my daily driver until the last year of its life. I had it for 5 years, from around 90k miles to around 180k, and for almost the whole time I owned it, I was hitting 100+ MPH at least once a week. I don't know how the drivetrain held up to all that abuse, but besides the infamous oil filter adapter gasket, thermostat, and I think the alternator was starting to go there at the end, I never had any trouble out of the drivetrain. Of course, other times I would do the whole hypermiling thing, and it was good at that too. The highest I'd had mine up to was holding at 32 Average MPG (according to the trip computer) on the interstate with the A/C turned off and the windows and sunroof open (the only way I used to roll back then).

I don't know if it's just something about a 93, or Mark VIII's in general, but I just couldn't drive mine like a "sane" person for too long before I'd have to let loose in it again.

My driving habits does not really fall into any just one category but if I could
show you a pie chart, it would look like this:

10% - Drive like you stole it
0.5% - Hypermiling
20.5% - Like a Grandma ( when I go cruising)
69% - Normal

I really don't get on the gas like I do on my Daimler.

I'm getting old and am slowing down a bit on purpose. Where I live the deer are think on the ground and I take it pretty easy in the back roads, especially after smacking one the other day. I drive 10K over most of the time and she sees WOT on a regular basis. I go fast when it's appropriate and some Caddy needs it's ass handed to it though. ;)
