Is there a way to cross check parts compatibility between Lincoln and Jaguar for my 2000 LS V8?

I sent a message to a Jaguar dealer looking for confirmation whether or not the transmission to shifter linkage cable is the same part, but with different numbers. They told me that they cannot check this request.

The Lincoln cable is: XW4Z-7E395-AB while the Jaguar cable is: XR833366

Is this the same part?

Additionally, I would like to know if the valve stem seals are interchangeable between 2000 model year V8s and what timing chain associated parts are interchangeable such as tensioners, guides, seals, ext.

I don’t see a general thread that lists shared parts between the two cars so I’m unsure as to how best to determine which parts are the same, but with different part numbers. With the understanding that many parts are shared, I would like the option of buying the Jaguar packaged part in situations where the Lincoln twin is discontinued.

Any ideas or pointers? Thank you!

You must be kidding?
Why would a Jaguar dealer have any interest or knowledge of a 25+ year old American made Lincoln? Heck even Ford does not have any interest and it's their car!

Jaguar and Ford did their best to keep them desperate. You will never find a list unless someone posts it.

Now you could start such a list if your interested?

Great Question!!!
There's probably a lot of us in the same boat re: interchangeable Jaguar S-TYPE R Parts.
I'm sure there's some type of database out there..
For example I ordered a motorcraft serpentine belt years ago; It came in a Motorcraft jacket however the actual is a Jaguar Belt.
Same thing happened with the water pump.

Perhaps something on a Jaguar Forum..

If the part on your Lincoln says 'Jaguar' or 'Lucas' rest assured the part is interchangeable. Jaguar dealers order parts for specific serial numbers, not cars, so yes, they're of no help for us LS owners. Salvage yards have cross reference books/computer lists that may be of help, but there are lots of gaps. I have found that, except for obviously different body parts, that most of the parts I have bought, both new and used, are interchangeable. More common on the street, but rare in salvage yards 'S Type's are hard to get next to. See if you can find a 2000 S (I've been looking for a 2000 S with a manual transmission for 8 years) similarly equipped to yours and get it's S/N. Then you can order the part from Jaguar and when it arrives compare it to the LS. If it matches, use it, if not, return it.

Thanks, Good Info:
I'll update my alerts on my PYP Pick Your Part App. to include Jaguars.
Out here in LA I can't remember the last time seeing an S-Type on the road.
