That's interesting that you got the stock air box to work with the polished tube. We didn't design it to work with the stock air box. However, it looks good. Did you notice any power differences?

decibels.. have u thought about color matching ur engine bay? will help wit car shows...

yes it was a lil bit of work. I got a spare airbox cut a hole in the bottom and widened that hole under it where the ram air tube comes in from next to the foglight. Then we had to mess with the mount for the tube by the engine coverto allow the tube to slant lower to meet the airbox's height. Cut about 4 " off the pipe and drill a new hole for the sensor. I grabbed some black couplings and we mounted it all up. Inside the aribox is a KN drop in. The car feels torqueyer(sp?) and a lil quicker. I think it does a good job of bringing in cooler air. The plastic keeps the filter area cool and the ram air tube going straight to the airbox has given me some good top end pull. I had this idea a while ago and wrote a big how-to on LLSOC.

I just bought a used TB off ebay that I will use as a temp for my car and I am sending mine in along witht he pipe to get powdercaoted "wrinkle black" which is like a rough texture.. So bascially I have the performance of a full intake and it appears to be OEM.

Can you post a pic of that, did you just open up the hole a bit bigger or cut the bottom out like in the Tech Article?

Im interested in the gain or loss it may create over the cone.

I bet there is a way to deflect the air going into the bumper grill up to the bottom of the filter box.

Not something directly connected but something that deflects it to its general area.

pics posted ^^ The reason i have the tube cut to go straight inot the airbox is because its a panel filter and I was looking ot have the whole box cooled with the air...

I got to hasty with the aribox and it isnt the cleanest install ever, but wihtout taking out the headlight you cant see so its just an anal thing I have miwth my projects. I will most liely develop a third edition of htis (this is my second.

Thanks for the pics, but I think you need to sleep off the studying...LOL I can barely tell what you are saying.:D

yeah I just have terrible typing skills. haha. I try to type faster than I really can. my bad

I have thought about it, but I am going to wait until I paint the car. For now, I just keep it as clean as a new car. I also want to do something with the bottom of the hood. As far as helping, up here in Jacksonville, I go to about 3 shows that are newer cars and imports, at these shows it would add points, however, the other shows are all old people and old cars, they love to see a nice, plain, clean engine.

decibel,

I sent you a pm, what do you use to keep your engine bay clean? I cant getmine to shine like that...

Do this at your own risk, but after two times, it will be easier to keep clean. Go to car wash, use engine/tire cleaner. Do not get on your paint, will fu<k your clear coat. Let sit for 2 or 3 minutes then wash off. First time with High pressure to get it very clean. Let dry the spray it down with armorall high gloss. Let sit until all the white armorall has settled in. Wipe down with lent free towel. Lent free or you will have fibers all over the plastic. Dont get armorall on your aluminum intake if you have one. Now get some billet aluminum cleaner and rub it in like hell. You can easily spend an hour polishing that dam thing, but it looks good.
