Almost sounds like two separate issues. Amp not being any good for one and for the other could be a bad ECU but if you disconnect the battery, you'll be resetting it but if it has went bad, resetting isn't going to help it. I couldn't say for sure what it is but someone else might know more. I never ran into that with my 94 when I had it. Your ECU should be a Z4H0 but you can put in something different, if it comes to that. DZA1 is pretty easy to find and the Z4H0 is too.

the blower motor? like for the AC? that is weird. not gonna be ecu related i don't think terry. maybe EATC related though. as it controls the blower motor.

What year Mark VIII do you have? I've seen the blower motor problem once before on a 97 and it was the EATC. If it's a 93 or 94 it's most likely the amp, but I have also seen the head unit cause that same problem a couple of times as far the no sound.

The Amps are poorly built on these cars. 95 and up keep the radio playing and what not until the door is open but I’m guessing you have a 94….?

When he first said that, for some reason I was thinking about the cooling fan and my mind went straight to when I tried that W3Z3 in the 94 and the cooling fan came on high without the engine running and the key being turned on. I still have that ECU in the closet.

I agree, it is likely to be EATC related. They usually don't just go bad but it does happen.

If it's the stock system and it is a 94, the system simply just sucks. Replace it with aftermarket and re-wire everything. You will be a happy man when it's all said and done.

Thanks Chris for the ECU catch. My mind was not quite there last night. ;)

i got your back terry. ;)

and oh yeah, bad amp or head unit for the radio. i went through two amps and a head unit my self.
my 2 cents, go aftermarket and rewire. even done on a budget will be enough to match stock. done on a slightly bigger budget and its just better. i never looked back.

That's y I'm going to do a whole gut and reinstall process when I start my stereo project

1) Radio - mine didn't work either, it wouldn't turn OFF and no sound. I found a good radio at a yard sale for $3, installed it - it turned off, but still no sound! Bought a new amp off ebay for $20 and problem solved - I HAVE TUNES!

2) The blower motor is a strange issue. R U saying it comes ON when you shut off the ignition, then goes off when you open the door? Or when it's on, it doesn't turn off until you open the door?
