Headlight Housing Question - 97 Mark VIII

So, My headlight housing has a small crack in it and somehow dirt got in there. To clean it, I decided to pour some alcolhol in there and swish it around. It melted off a strip of metallic paint near the lens, and now it looks terrible.

My question is, how do I take the housing apart? Are there any tricks or tips anyone can offer me?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Cut it apart with a dremel... they make these awesome plastic cutting wheels, they work great...

We have a member here, Jamie97lsc that completely refinishes headlights 'cause they're so poor from the factory. Just in case you don't want to tackle it yourself.

i have never tried a gen 2 housing yet, but i have one i am going to experiment with and see what happens, as soon as i get some free time, which who knows when that will be!
