-several weeks ago I added two driving lights behind the grill, the relay for these is fed by the batt+ and the switch for these is fed by the hi beam line/hot on the pass side (so they come on/off w/ high beams)
-Last weekend I spliced the two wires in the MF sw. (R/BK, R/Y; 13,15?) to keep the lo's energized when the brights are turned on; in prep for HID mod.
-everything was fine,as per plan
-recently noticed one of the two behind-grill lights were out; in trouble shooting (with lights turned on) I f'd up... I arked the feed/line to the light in question against the + terminal on the dead driving light
- now the problem; with just lows on, all are on (except RH fog lamp) and none of the lights have full power
-with lo's and hi's on, only the RH lights are energized but they have full brightness

is what it looks like with just low beams on

is what it looks like with the high beams (and lo beams per MF sw. splice) on
- at this point the add-on lights are out of the circuit-straight off the batt+;
-all the fuses in the LH door panel are good as the one under the hood in the PWR DIST BOX- don't know about the relays in PDB
- I removed batt.- cable, waited, then put it back, to reset- no change
-I'm also gettin a 'check ext lamp' msg in the central dash LED display board
WTF did I do?????
.....
(fried MF switch?)

Without looking at a wiring schematic I would return everything to stock so you can eliminate the work you did as part of the problem.

Those extra driving lights really aren't necessary, if you just buy a nice set of headlight housings with Chrome that's not all burnt and brown and add an hid conversion kit your problems will be solved. Halogen housings are fairly easy to come by if you check ebay, Craigslist or ask around here.

I have to agree with both of the above mentioned comments. Everyone personalizes their cars however they want to but lighting drains a TON of power. I suggest eliminating those extra lights, go back to normal, shine up those lights & install some HID's. You will be VERY happy. I promise.

i got lucky...i had loosened the ground (7/16'' green bolt) on the LH side and forgotten about it...tightened it up and voila, back to normal....electronics 101....partially lit/dim lights=open ground...ground fault...I have everything now for the HID mod...the add-ons were a bridge...a big pain in the ass time killer
