i have heard that frpp headers will work on the mark viii's, but no one will tell me for sure. Anybody know of anything besides kooks that will work? I need them for a second gen.

Do a search there are lots of threads on this. Some with pics on what you need to do.

No Mustang headers will fit mark VIII without modifications.Kooks are the only available headers for Mark VIIIs.

Jeb,

The mods required for the ones you describe are in the steering column. It only takes a flaming river double joint for the steerring shaft.

Darrin should know what i'm talking about.

And for the money involved, you would be better off going with a set of N/a Cobra cast iron manifolds.

What's the story on the Kooks no longer being made, or slated to be discontinued? I remember reading that somewhere but haven't heard anything since.

Yeah, I talked to some Kooks rep and he said they didn't offer our headers anymore and won't again. So whatever is left at Tccoa is our only/best option. I'd like to think there are some more options out there other than having a custom set made for a $1000. Which I'm actually debating now.(When I have extra cash from my money tree of course:rolleyes: ) A flaming river joint is no big deal, is that really all that makes those not 'work'? Are the Kooks the best flowing out there or just the only ones that fit without mods? Does anyone have dyno numbers on Kooks headers?

Kooks were the ONLY ones for a long while and even then my '93 needed a flaming river joint.

I don't have before/after dyno runs but I did go from a 13.86 last run of the fall to a 13.54 first run in the spring at the same track with just the headers.
