Has anyone done a bolt pattern conversion?

Well mines r all burned and a bit bended cuz of sunlight I guess. So Ima have to buy it all new whenever I get the money to paint the car, does anyone know whether 2nd gen LSE (they come all black) will fit my 1st gen??

Whats Pete's? If its pektel's u r 100% right !! matte black rims would make the red calipers stand out more and the lip must be in pearl white... sick

Here's the thing about "customizing further." I like my car to look like it could've came that way from the factory. Nothing too flashy, just fixing it to the way I think it should've came stock, ya know? I'm not trying to attract a lot of attention with it. But the right people appreciate it, that's for sure. I was driving down a divided highway a while back, and saw a newer M5 heading the opposite direction. I was staring hard at the M5, admiring it. Then I noticed the driver. He was doing the same thing to my LS!

The next customizing stuff is going to be performance oriented.

As far as exterior mods, I would love to either buy the gen2 lse side skirts, and do a fiberglass lip similar to the one on there now. IF I don't buy the side skirts, I may just paint the existing black ones.

Not sure about doing the gen2 lse front bumper yet.

I do REALLY want the gen1 LSE rear spoiler.

As far as the black surround around the glass, I haven't done it yet. I just covered it with electrical tape, took a couple pics, and then took it back off. I just haven't got around to doing it permanently yet.

A better pic of how it sits now:

Pektel, only your front calipers are painted?

Yeah, I'm not really diggin the red. Think I'm gonna go gloss black or something instead. Maybe have a lincoln star stenciled on them in red or something.

My LS's body is all messed up, and it still turn heads in hang outs. AND in rainy days like wednesday when I get off the hang out's parking lot sideways ppl love it ! Cant wait to swap in an LSD!!!

Wow.. I think Ive even had dreams on that stage !! when ur car is exactly as u wanted it and all u can now do to it is improve performance

I wanted to paint mines and no body shop wanted to do it cause it needs a lot of sanding and stuff. 2nd gen LSE are the best lookin ones. Do they fit 1st gen with no mods????

Do 2nd gen LSE woulf fit in 1st gen?? they r all black from factory.

About the rims.. get another set and do something wilder for a change sometimes.

I've thought about doing something bolder. But it's just not my taste. I prefer being subtle. I don't need to stand out that much. I'm almost 30. My days of being flashy are over.

The gen2 LSE kit will mate up to the gen1 just fine. Where you run into issues is the rear valance. It has the gen2 exhaust cutouts.

I know there is at least one member here who got his stock black skirts painted. jolinc I want to say is the one.

I think the exhaust tips r not the main issue. The tag surround is different from gen2. Take a quick look in the pics thread, the rear bumper is completely different.
Do u know any 1st gen with a full LSE body kit on???

Don't think so. You could very well be right. And you are correct about the license plate surround being completely different, which in turn makes the upper part of the bumper defferent from the gen 1. I'm not sure if there was any change to the lower part of the bumper where the valance would mate up to.

Check it out here. This is a pic I took in August of mine and 04lincolnls's LSes. Looks like they MAY not fit, but someone would need to take measurements to confirm:

Yea, I think measuring would provably confirm that, they look different.

1st gen's butt is way sexier !! :leghumper

You will have to change the trunk lid and then it will not watch up with the top quarter panels correctly. Remember that the license surrounds are different.

I've been thinking about it. A neighbor is in the paint industry and could get me the paint very inexpensively. And another neighbor is amazing with the spray gun. I just don't know if I want to risk it. I don't want it badly enough to pay to have it done. But I am picky enough that I want it done right.

Put up or shut up right?

I want to find someone who can work with aluminum to modify my 1st gen to keep the lights, and 2ns gen license surround to fit an 2nd gen LSE body in it.
But my car needs other stuff done prior to it.

If your painting neighbor is that good with a paint gun it should turn out pretty good if he preps it right. Mine were sanded smooth and done the right way with a plastic promoter. If he doesn't sue the plastic promoter your paint will most likely flake off quickly, since the plastic has oils in it.
