Group Buy Offer - Laser Jammer

I'll probably continue the offer for another week and a half. I was hoping I could get at least 5 people aboard. After that, we may be able to drop the price. MSRP is $479. I thought more people might be interested.

I "get down on it" often. But between my V1 and situtional awareness, I havent had a radar or laser ticket in literally...about 15 years or more. When speeding I dont do it in residential areas, I am NEVER the lead car, I am NEVER EVER the lead car in the LEFT lane, and in general...I keep aware.

I do all those things as well. I've just felt like my luck was about to run out, especially since here in MA, there is more and more laser everywhere. My detector has only sounded one laser alert and I think it was a false alarm from cars that use infrared sensors. Even when I know I was targeted, it didn't go off. If your hit though, all a detector really does is tell you your about to get a ticket. The V1 certainly is a great unit when it comes to regular radar though. I'm considering upgrading my old cobra to an escort 9500 ix or the Bel rx65 for a little less. Laser happens to be more popular here so I started with the Blinder.

Whats the diff between a jammer and a radar detector. I heard the valentine radar a lot, is that a good one?

A laser Jammer detects and sounds an alarm when you're being "painted" and throws out a "cloud" of Ifra Red light that cloaks your car.

A radar detector detects radar waves and sounds an alarm.
My Valentine also detects laser.

Police radar is under the jurisdiction of the FCC (Federal Communicatons Commission) and using an active radar jammer is a felony!
A permit certificate is required for a radio transmitter and the FCC won't issue one for a jammer.
There used to be a company called Scorpion that actually made an active radar jammer that worked.
It was 500.00 but was a huge box the size of 4 Valentines.
They also made a stealth model similar to tha laser jammer modules which was 1200.00.
I believe the feds shut him down.

Police laser is under the jurisdiction of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and no permits are required to operate a laser device.
Laser Jammers are legal in 40 of the 50 states.
In areas where they're illegal police may use some guns that tell them their gun is being jammed.
Use in these areas is not a considered a crime and penalties are confiscation, a fine and a ticket.
Some cops enjoy themselves having you drive over your devices.
The Laser Interceptor adverizes itself as not showing any tattle codes as laser jammers are mostly illegal in europe and australia and penalties for their use are much more stiff ($2000.00+) than in the US and Canada.
The procedure when being lasered is to slow down to the limit then turn off the unit so the cop can get a safe reading.
Otherwise if he had his wits about him (highly unlikely) he could try and charge you with interfering with police business.
I've taken 3 seconds to respond to being lasered and it works!
One time I was doing almost 90 in my Camaro with M20 when I got lasered at 1400 ft.
When I had slowed down to 65 and turned off the jammer the cop aimed his gun again at me and gave me a puzzled look (priceless!) while turning his head as I passed him.
I burst out into a loud jolly laugh:N

Laser (and radar) works coming or going so unless you have rear jammers he can clock you after you pass him.

Some may disagree but I consider the Valentine 1 the best radar detector.
It sniffs out cops over hills and around curves.
It's straght range is over a mile.
It detects the radar reflection off of a pulled over car 1/4 mile ahead.
Plus it's the only one that had directional arrows that tell you if the cop is coming from the front, behind or from the sides like when you approach an intersection.
You can also send it to Valentine to have the software updated for a small fee.

The worst piece if crap is a Rocky Mountain Radar "Phaser" passive laser and radar jammer.
The idea is to add a little "chirp" into the reflection of the radar or laser to disrupt it.
This doesn't work at all so don't waste 200.00.
I hear them advertized on the radio occasionally offering a 30 day return policy.
This device is a total scam other than maybe as an overpriced for it's quality detector.

Your luck will run out sooner or later. Then what? Its nothing compared to tickets and insurance premiums.
+1 Speeding tickets in IA are dirt cheap and we do have a right to speed law (up to +10mph, but ONLY in 35-55 zones - yeah, retarded right?) but the insurance gets mighty expensive.

You can get into a rabid fanboy argument, but the consensus seems to be that the Valentine 1 and Escort 9500ci are the best radar detectors on the market, unless you live in Virginia or are a commercial driver, in which case your only option would be the Beltronics STi-R, which has been proven to be immune to radar-detector-detectors including the Spectre IV.

Personally, I like the directional arrows and bogey counter on the V1 but I understand that you can enable a feature that's similar to the bogey counter in expert mode on the 9500ci. Another thing is that the 9500ci has GPS capabilities to help cut down on falsing, which doesn't bother me when running in Logic mode on the V1.

Of course none of this wonderful gadgetry will help you from getting paced,
so be alert when speeding and keep checking that rearview mirror.

I've had the Valentine V1, the Bel STi and a couple of Whistlers. The most informative and "accurate" of them all is the V1. Laser is like radar was in the early days, hear an alert and get a ticket. My V1 saved be from a laser ticket on Hwy 101 near Paso Robles last winter. I was doing ~78 in a 65 when I got the alert. The CHPer was painting one of the cars ahead of me and I got the "splash" in enough time to be around 70 when he got me. That is some kind of warning! The down side is sometimes those red LED tail lights sometimes set off the laser warning. The arrows also help distinguish between a cop somewhere behind, gaining on you and one ahead shooting opposite direction traffic. That feature alone saved me at least 4 tickets (how do I know? The 4 cars that passed me were all pulled over a couple miles down the road!)on I5 north of Sacramento last summer! The range on the V1 in flat land is well over a couple of miles! Plenty of time to slow. IMHO, the Valentine is worth more than the $399 price tag!

Very true, you still need to pay attention as I have iterated from the start. However, this is a very good line of defense should you be distracted and let your guard down. That always seems to be when you find trouble.

a quality radar/laser detector such as the V1 or 9500ix can save you if your detecting laser that is being reflected or diffused off of surrounding cars. However, if you're directly targeted, you may as well pull right over.

Thats why both a laser jammer and a radar detector are required.
Around here almost all the suburban cops, sheriffs and troopers cars have rolling radar which is on all the time.
In 15 years living in this area I can't say I've ever encountered an instant on radar situation.
I encounter the radar every few days vs a 2 or 3 times a year for the laser.

Were these not illegal in The Peoples Republik of Kahleefornya I'd bee all over it!

Agreed. However none of my other detectors, including the STi would catch that. I had the Bel mounted low, saw a local cop point his gun at me (fortunately I don't really speed (5 over) on secondary streets) and I received no alert. I know he was painting me as this 50mph road is routinely driven at 60 and above.

So you can't jam radars cause its illegal. You can jam lasers and once you get targeted its jams it so you can slow down, turn it off, and let the laser read a speed within the limit...Right? does the V1 have noth radar detection and laser jamming? Which ones do?

exactly. The blinder has a few settings so that you can adjust how long it jams for; 3 seconds, 7 seconds, or 10 seconds, or constant on (jams until you turn it off, or you are no longer painted).

no, they all just do detection. The Blinder does the laser jamming.

So to be well protected you need a v1 to detect and a jammer just in case? Thats like 800 big ones.

If this group buy offer is only for a short time I'm probably out. I'm interested but money just flew out the window. Gotta wait a bit

It is a lot to spend at once. I'm just offering the Blinder for now.

The jammer isn't really a "just in case". If you live in or near an area where laser is used, I would actually purchase the Blinder first as it actually PREVENTS a reading from being taken, and gives you time to correct speed. Its much easier to pick you out of a crowd with laser than it would be with radar. So if you commonly see police officers while you're driving, and they are parked sideways aiming something toward oncoming traffic, its laser. Get the laser jammer first. If they are always moving, or parked parallel with traffic, then go with a radar/laser detector first. Obviously having both would be best.

It will be open for a little while. There are no firm responses yet, but decent interest.

I am certainly not encouraging dangerous driving, but I will say that just 1 ticket saved could cover that amount (ticket costs, legal costs / time to fight the ticket, insurance premium increases, license suspension, etc.)

Yeah neither am I. I was "speeding according to this highway patrol. I was going 73 and my speedo is 3 mph fast than what those sings that show you how fast you're going so I was going 70. When a car passes me doing like 90. Real nice. I got off and he just wrote me down for my window tint, they have saved me twice, but yeah it would just be nice know when they are around to go under so they dont try pulling a fast one on you
