Got into it with a CTS

so I was driving my mark home with the wife and kid and a cadillac cts cuts me off to get the lead of the light to turn left so when it goes green he putters around the corner at like 2mph then guns it I keep up to about 90 could not gain on him but as luck would have it the next light turns red so we line up
I had bad reaction time on the light but still get him out of the hole and from there on it was all mark I didnt think I would beat one so bad had him by 2 1/2 cars by the end of 1st after we hit about 90 mph he gave up and hit the breaks makes me happy that I can still beat up on some new cars even if they are a V6
 
CTS-V. pffft. Got into it with one a couple of years ago in Phoenix... He still had paper plates on it. He lost...

Are you the kind of guy who tells people they shouldn't smoke or drink? The OP is an adult. He can make his own decisions, both good and bad. While I may not agree with him racing with a kid in the car, there's no need for an internet nanny to tell him who he should have in the car with him when he's... bending the law, or schooling some hot shot wanna be cadillac owner. He's a big boy, he can make his own choices.

if you want to be a parent parent you own kids
my kid likes to go fast
and you know what there are much more dangerous things people do with
there kids like did you know 1 in 5 kids in the US is obese this means

and I guess I shouldn't let him play on a play ground he could fall and break his neck and get him a bike way to dangerous and in my area when I grew up if you lived within 1.5 miles of your elementary school you had to walk so I better not live to close to school
what I am saying is this is not parenting class and there are many more dangerous thing in the world than doing 90 mph
 
some people need to mind their own buisness! Your a grown man,do what makes you happy! If the kid likes going fast,then so be it! Opinions are like a**holes,everybody has one and should keep it to themselves unless asked! I'm sure everyone has broken the speed limit one time in their lives......unless your fu*king perfect which nobody is!!! Rock on bro!
 
My it seems to me some people have gotten their panties in a bunch over a simple comment. Now, what would the comments be if the thread was titled" I got into a race, and killed my kid"? The kid may like to go fast, and that`s cool.
Have I ever street raced? Guilty. Do I do it anymore? No. Anything can happen at anytime. So if you all want to risk your childrens lives, feel free.
 
i was just saying that he is an adult and can make his choices....thats all! Not everyone is going to agree but you will never make everyone happy! S*it happens everyday! I guess we shouldn't even go outside anymore then! You could do the speed limit and still have something happen so when its your time,its your time bro! Nuff said!
 
You got that right. You never know what the loon next to you is going to do, or what can break. I wasn`t attacking him or anyone else. I do speed, Do I ever speed, always alone and no one around. I enjoy pushing whatever I`m driving. I just don`t want anyone else to suffer from my actions, if something should go wrong.

Why drive a car with power like the Mark if your not going to use it. Why does this always come up, don't race blah blah who cares, he's a grown man, and no internet nannying is going to change the way people drive.
 
Reminds me of something else I hate about the communist republic of california: A friend of the family got a ticket the other day for smoking in her car while there were minors in the car with her.

I dont agree with smoking in a car with your kids in it, but to make it illegal? Gimme a break!

Slowmarkviii, I found your story interesting. We can, I'm willing to bet, all honestly admit to driving unsafely at times- all of us. As I have gotten older I pick my spots very carefully where I open her up. Congrats on the win Sir.
 
I enjoy to open up the lincoln every now and again also, I hate when people try to tell you how to raise your kids thru the internet. I also love the "what if" comments. Like "what if" a goose had a heart attack and fell out of the sky and hit your kid playing in the backyard, well I guess someone would say don't let your kids play in the backyard.

Live your own life and raise your own damn kids.

Not too long ago i had a late 90's Seville actually hang on to my bumper from a 60mph punch up to about 90 or so.

THAT surprised me, the car has aerodynamics like a shoebox lol.

my friend rolled her suv doing like 30 with her kid so maybe suvs should be illegal to
what if cause I was doing 90 that I made the next green light and if I was going slower I would have stopped and got rear ended by a drunk driver in a truck and we all died
so in theory by me speeding I saved all of our lives
 
Some dumb bitch ran into my car in a parking lot... what if a kid had been between my car and that lady??

Nice rationalization, Or what if a police officer had pulled you over, after just losing a child to someone street racing. How well do you think that stop would go? What if, what if, what if.

The coefficent of drag on a 98-04 Seville (probably 93-97s too) is .34 and the Mark is .33 (IIRC.) Not really a shoebox.

And if we want to go down the N* vs 4v road again, we can. :cool:

But how great would it have been if she was between your car and hers :) As for CTSs.....back in dec, when my car was fast and stock???, I rhomped a new CTS....as for the CTS V.....when I had my 79 trans am I beat one....it was the 400hp version 6 speed....but i did beat him :)
 
SlowMark.... It's good to see the Mark pulling off a win, especially with some dweeb incapable of making a left at anything over parking lot speeds. I live in LosAngeles, land of illegals, uninsured, unskilled, unaware and get cut off regularly by people trying to snake the pole position at a light only to bog off the line and crawl up the street, blocking any forward progress for the pack behind them. I've always said, it's the driver, not the car. Most of these pinheads only know how to stomp the pedal and have little driving skills beyond that. Talent runs out fast when they are challenged or presented with a turn. Again, congrats.

Man that made my blood pressure rise! I can't STAAAAAAND people that have to be first only to go slow. I want to pull them out of their car and beat the snot out of them!
