Leave out the mirror decal and I won't make fun of you.

lol tough crowd! Hence the reason I don't have something like 8urz28 for a license plate. That's funny until you pull up next to one with a built motor and a 150 shot lol. I know my car is quick for what it is, but I'm not going to stick my foot in my mouth. I prefer to keep it subtle. (badges) Just enough to make people wonder. Most people on here kniw what I got. People on the streets don't.

lmao, you guys have a point with the mirror decals. giants plate and valve caps it is lol

I put worse on my car when I was 16, as i'm sure most of us did.. lol. Luckily you have an older crowd here that will help steer you in the right direction. ;)

i had a 1990 plymouth horizon when i was 16 with limo tint and street glow stickers all over it. i also had a cb with a whip on the back, two 15's in the back from radio shack, listen to people's advice if you dont want to get picked on, i nearly got beat up over that car when i was a kid!!!!

I agree. Don't go too crazy on the "loud" appearance mods. One of the cool things about these cars are their "sleeper effect", and you don't want to spoil that. In my opinion, loud exhaust is okay, and badges are ok as long as they're not something dumb like "GT-R MUGEN TRD Si SLP AMG OMG WTF", you know what I mean. They make people think, but it's not something that screams "HEY LOOK AT ME IM FAST". Trust me, it's much better (in my opinion) to be subtle and surprise people when you beat them. I was just telling someone tonight, one of the funniest things I ever heard someone say about one of my races in the Mark VIII was, the passenger of the other car got out and said to the driver: "Dude, you just got waxed by a Towncar!"

i actually like those stickers for the mirror. small, subtle and funny.
its not like flame stickers, stupid wings, vent louvers, chrome pinstriping or chrome double wipers. you know the "pep boys/vatozone treatment".

I totally get you, i would never throw a million stickers/badges on my mark. Only exterior things i put on was the cobra badges on the fenders (nice little chrome addition), chrome license plate frame(soon to be chrome ny giants one), and thats really it. on the inside i put the classic black jumbo fuzzy dice and a mini chrome skull in the cigarette lighter. LMAO at the last line, but people don't realize that they shouldn't :q:q:q:q with us (mark VIII's), they think oh look at that old looking lincoln its probably slow as hell, i think not haha. I've been driving my mark around with my dad lately and its 100% stock other than a custom exhaust, i think its pretty quick, it handles sharp turns amazingly, i really love this car, and i never though i'd say that about a car when i used to hear other people say it, but damnit i love it lol, fun car, comfy and fast, all i need.

I take it you're young? The sleeper effect will really work for you then. It did for me, and I got mine back in 2004. Nobody (my age at least) knew what they were back then (most still don't, really), and that was when the cars weren't quite as old, so I'm sure now there's going to be even fewer young people who know about them. You'll probably hear your car called all kinds of things (not in a bad sense, but like the quote I said about the "getting beat by a 'Towncar' thing). I've heard my car called a Towncar, Continental, basically anything but a Mark. Of course, that's the "normal" people at first. Then you run into the idiots who, when you tell them what the car is, they misunderstand and still say "Lincoln Mercury", "Lincoln Marquis", and one genius even told me I was pronouncing it wrong- that it was "Mach VIII" (like the Mach I). But trust me, you'll have fun with it, especially when you first start bringing it out to the local car-guy hangout. After a while, "the regulars" figure out what it is and that it's quick, but you'll always be able to surprise people in it and do it in style. Oh, and the ladies love Mark VIII's.

Yeah im 16 lol. I like the sleeper effect, and your 100% right nobody i'm friends with knows what a mark VIII is. The only people who know what a Mark VIII is my dad, old neighbors(like 65-75 yrs old lmao), and a few friends of the family in their 40s. But better off kids I'm friends with don't know what it is so they don't go get one, I love the idea of me being one of the very few owners of a Mark VIII on Staten Island. I think there's maybe less than 8 here. +1 on the last sentence lol. :hump:

wow, i didn't pay close enough attention to know that smiley i put in was a humping one, lmao.
