This may not be thread worthy, however if you plan to change your oil soon go to Walmart. They have 5+qt jugs of Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w20 for only $24.97. It's about $37 anywhere else. I just changed my oil last night when I installed new coils/plugs. Figured you guys might want to know and save some $$.

^ yup same around here $24ish. They had them for like $22 and change not too long ago. Bought like 4 jugs! funny how $2 makes such a difference :shifty:

yep, boy was I excited when Wally World finally started carrying my weight a year or two ago. its almost half price from buying it by the quart across the street at O'Reilly (@ almost $10 a quart) bow if only they would also carry an oil filter for the LS...

5w-20 can be run in warmer climates. 5w-30, book recommended oil, should be used in snow country.
I guess they've been selling it a while lol. As to the 5w30 recommendation for snowy areas, I used 5w20 and I'm sure I'll have A foot snow on to of my LS soon enough lol.
It's sad when a clean LS has to suffer in the Michigan blizzards to accommodate my wifes Ford Fusion sitting all cozy in the garage. I suppose that's marriage though.

Ford has always recommended only 5W-20 (0W-20 is equivalent) for the gen II. While the gen I manual says 5W-30, they put out a bulletin a long time back recommending that they use 5w-20 for the gen I as well. If I lived somewhere really cold, I would only use 0W-20. As it is, I use that when I can get it.

not quite, the old ball and chain knows that her car gets the garage spot over mine after either her escape beats mine in a race or she dumps more money into than i have into mine...
So I guess having three cars in my three car garage is unique?? Oh...... And all 3 are LSes....
