good deal on block?

hi i have came across a aluminator block with darton racing sleeves in it and was wondering if it is a good deal

He purchased this block new and had the sleeves installed. the block had not been "seasoned" so one of the sleeves moved enough to cause the head gasket to leak. he says it has been moved back and the block has been heat treated and pressure tested. feedback on this?

Also the cylinders have been bored to a 3.713" bore instead of the standard 3.700" bore. please throw me some prices i should spend and any feedback about problems i might run into. thank you

not sure on price but before you get it invest in a magnetic particle inspection.
to make that the block is sound also talk to a real engine builder near you

What kind of build up are you planning?

If your staying under 600 hp or so I would just stay with the cheap plentiful Teskid... you can get them for cheap cheap cheap...

plan on making some big horse power down the line. mabey 800 900 hp but im buying this block to build on the side so my car is not out of commision. and he wants 1200. good deal?

1200 is a little much but if its in great shape a good deal. I bought one for 700 out of a runnning mustang, but once it was inspected the sleeves had "walked" and it was going to cost 3500 to resleeve it. So as long as the block checks out your ok otherwise it is cheaper to just start one from scratch.

if all the machine work is done to the block already and everything is good 1200 doesnt seem half bad.

What are your plans for it?

i am going to get all forged internals with a stroker kit and that bore ill be lookin at about 324 cubic inches im not sure with what year or model heads and intakes to go with i dont know much about the diferences. then im gonna be looking into a twin turbo in probally 1 or two years. hoping for huge horsepower. any sugestions?

what had to be done to the motor? he said they reset the sleeves and heat treated it and milled it .006". should it be good to go?
